Repeat Stay

This was our 3rd time stay at Sunset Beach Condos. It’s south of town and in a very quiet area. We like the small corner store just a walk away to get snacks, drinks, and some breakfast foods. The property is about 15 minutes golf cart ride to town, but that’s what we like about staying here. There is a tour company right next door that is super convenient. Looking forward to another trip.

The ONLY Place we stay!

We've been to San Pedro 4 times now. We have CHOSEN to stay at Sunset Beach Resort. The condo is spacious, well stocked and clean. It has great porch with a great view of the beach and it's just steps to the water. Several restaurants nearby and a small market for things you run out of.We'll be back!

Great Stay!

We rented this condo for our extended family while we stayed in another unit. Great location if you have several families traveling together. Everything was exactly what we needed, clean, well kept, comfortable and just the right size. Jason was incredibly helpful with arranging details and very welcoming. We love this location as it's close enough to San Pedro to travel in for dinners, but far enough away to be more secluded and quiet. Tour companies and dive shops all know where it is and can pick you up right from the dock. Highly recommend!!

Everything you need including the perfect location

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was serene and perfect. The condo itself was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The concierge assistance was invaluable. I would recommend staying here and this will be the first place we book when we return.

Awesome snorkel week

This unit was great for my family. Far enough from town that it was quiet, but not a burden (and fun) to ride in on the golf carts. Plenty of nearby restaurants. The concierge, Jason, was excellent. He helped arrange transport, carts, snorkel trips, etc. We were sometimes picked up by boat right in front of the property. It was super easy. We snorkeled several spots and saw more variety than you can in most of the Caribbean. Our guided trips were with Searious and were terrific. It was very easy to get to and from the island from Belize City by small plane. Highly recommend the whole experience!

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION, WORST OWNER EVER!

My wife and I rent through VRBO every year for several weeks at a time and have always enjoyed a pleasant experience. However, in this case, the property is not as described. Pros Nice sized 3 bedroom with a very well provisioned kitchen. Pool and lounge chairs are quite nice. Jason, Chapin and the other staff are first rate. Cons Owner of unit is extremely rude, unprofessional and I would never book a property owned by her. The pictures suggest a beautiful beach at the property. There is no beach whatsoever and they do not remove the seaweed that builds up at the seawall, so it rots in the sun and there is a very unpleasant odor much of the time. Other properties dealt with the seaweed issue. The internet/Wifi is virtually non-existent and, as a result, we incurred enormous cell phone roaming charges when the Wifi continuously blacked out. We are a working couple and were assured there was great high-speed internet. The furniture is very dated, as are the beds, which were both uncomfortable. Towels and bed linens are extremely old, some permanently stained, and were only replaced twice in a 5.5 week stay. We requested new towels every 3 or 4 days, as was promised to us, but that fell on deaf ears, so we ended up having to wash our towels frequently ourselves. Cleaning service came twice and did a cursory job, but counters, floors and bathrooms were dirty and we had to clean them ourselves. The unit used to have a washer and dryer, but the owner removed them and has a laundry service available instead. Evidently the cost of the hot water was an issue, so she moved that cost to the renters by having a paid laundry service. I had to leave for 7 days, and our son came for that same period. The owner insisted that I pay in advance for the son's stay but did not give credit for my absence for the same period. She harassed me day and night for payment, full well knowing I was in Canada at an emergency Board meeting. I was more than happy to pay, but not while ensconced in a lengthy Board meeting. We have always received and given stellar reviews to our hosts over the years, in all parts of the world, but in this case the owner misrepresented the property, and it was an exceptionally toxic experience dealing with her. Bottom Line: Lovely area, no beach, nice sized home, but BUYER BEWARE!

Awesome Rental

This rental was fantastic from the beginning to the end. The property was perfect, Alvin was timely in every response, greeted us upon arrival and was always available to provide excursion suggestions and set up what you want to do. We thoroughly enjoyed the condo, the pier and all the amenities. Best vacation ever!!

Two girlfriends and I just returned from a perfect week-long stay at Sunset Beach C1! The place was so comfortable, clean, and stocked with everything we needed and more. It was amazing to wake up in the morning, sit on the porch, look out to the blue ocean, and have ocean-front lounge chairs and the fantastic pool just steps away. The place was so peaceful; it was away from the bustle of town, but it was still so easy to get to town with our golf cart. And the little grocery store at the corner had everything we needed. Deb, the property owner, and Alvin, the on-site concierge, were incredible. They were so on top of providing us all the information we needed before we arrived, answered every question really quickly, and were so happy to make our stay perfect. Alvin was a great help with our reservations for our golf cart, a perfect snorkeling trip, and a special last-night dinner at Black Orchid close by. We had great massages from Alvin’s wife under the palm trees. Thank you, Deb, for sharing your beautiful place, and, thank you, Alvin, for going above and beyond.

Fabulous Stay in South San Pedro

The condo is beautiful and well-appointed. The property is well-maintained, wonderful pool and great dock. We did a lot of exploring and decided we had chosen among the best on the island for location. It is perfectly situated outside of the hustle and bustle of San Pedro but close enough to be convenient. Alvin was very helpful with everything we needed during our stay from golf cart rentals to tours and taxis. Thank you Deborah and Alvin! We had a wonderful trip and would love to come back sometime!

Amazing place!

From the moment we connected with Deb she was amazing. She answered all of our questions promptly and made the booking process so easy. We took the quick flight with Tropic Air here and the flight was awesome. When we got here it was exactly as described. The view is incredible, the place was extremely clean, very comfortable beds and the kitchen is perfectly stocked. The grounds are kept immaculate. The pier is awesome for jumping off of, we swam often off the pier and loved it. We had great snorkelling under the pier and around our dock. Juan, the property manager, is so very helpful. He is here all the time if we had questions. We did Hol Chan, Shark Alley and the graveyard - amazing snorkelling! We also got to fish off the boat and the guys were awesome. I would highly recommend the golf cart to get around which Juan had waiting for us. There are so many amazing restaurants all a very short drive away. Some of our favourites was Robins Kitchen, Roy’s, Elvi’s, Estel’s, Roadkill (amazing burgers and 1.00 tacos on Tuesdays), The Baker in town is awesome and you must stop at Maria’s fruit stand for her fresh salsa and guacamole!!! Secret Beach is amazing, we went all the way to the right to Pacos, quieter and great service. Another day at secret beach we ventured to the left to Sunset Palace .... this place is amazing !!! Hidden little gem, best beach hands down. Hardly anyone there, tons of places to sit .. this place is a must do! We have loved our stay at Sunset and we have travelled to many places but this is by far the most organized and beautiful rental on the water we have had. Ask Juan about the massages his wife does right on our pier - best massage I’ve ever had. This trip has been like no other, Belize and it’s people are amazing and we have enjoyed every day exploring San Pedro. We can’t wait to return! Thank you Deb and Juan for making our trip here something we will never forget.

Amazing first trip

The amazing views and property were just as shown and perfect. We enjoyed relaxing on our porch or at the community table by the pool. The convenience store at the corner was perfect to grab beer, water and snacks. The king bed had the best sheets I have slept on in a while! Forgot to see what they were because I would love these at home. Pepperonis in town delivered here and it was the best pizza if you are looking to stay in and not cook. The kitchen had everything we needed and even made breakfast one day. There are also a ton of restaurants just a quick golf cart ride in town. Deb has the perfect list from fun to food if you have never been and it really helps to make sure you dont miss anything. Can't wait to go back!!!!

Great place!

We were a group of 4 staying for a week on Caye Ambergris. From the booking, Deb was attentive and helpful. She and Juan Carlos gave us prep materials for Belize, the property, and the area around it, including good recs for dinner/lunch, etc. The condo (C1) was clean, well-supplied with towels, dishes, spices, etc and looked just as good as the photos (even better actually). And the grounds were amazing—what a pool!! We made good use of the grills as well. Definitely inquire about getting some fresh snapper from the local fishermen. Delicious. A cart is a must to get around, but the property was great! Thanks for hosting us!!

Our favorite place to escape to in San Pedro!

This is our 3rd time in San Pedro and we love Sunset Beach Resort. A spacious condo with great views of the Reef and the ocean. Juan Carlos is great for arranging everyactivity you can think of to do on the island and on the mainland. We had a great dinner prepared by Crystal. The grounds are well cared for by Chapin and Arvin. The pool is a life saver when it warms up in the afternoon. We'll stay there again and again!

First timers to belive

We started our vacation in your wonderful beach house. We loved every minute of our stay, we were set with with a snorkeling adventure with sharks and sting rays that we'll remember forever. Our guides Ivan and James where amazing and funny and informative couldn't have asked for better. The little store 1 block away had just about everything u would need and with lone star grill down the road with the coldest beers around you didn't need much more. Do rent a golf cart you won't regret it. With recommendations from the staff we went and say secret beach which was really nice beach bar area to hang swim and relax. Would stay again for sure.

Great home away from home

We had 7 in our group and this home worked out perfectly for us. The kitchen seemed well supplied however we only ate breakfast at the condo so I can't comment on making other meals. The one thing we could have used more of is towels however that said the laundry was being remodeled and that might have had something to do with it. The beach location and pool were absolutely perfect. Juan Carlos was always helpful and always helped us with what we needed. I would recommend renting a golf cart to motor around the island, it was quick, easy and efficient. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Great location and service

The owner and concierge were super helpful in arranging everything and ensuring our stay was great! We ended up having to stay two extra nights but the place was booked. Even though they were booked, Juan Carlos found us a room at the condos next door, and even took our luggage over for us while we were diving! Great place!

Outstanding!

The unit is spacious, very clean and convenient located. We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the morning to soak up the sun. Juan and Chapin were very helpful arranging our taxi, golf cart, fishing trip and follow up beach dinner. The kayaks and bikes were an extra bonus.

Fantastic beach condo!

Our family of 4 enjoyed our week at Sunset Beach Resort. Deb and Juan Carlos were very responsive to our (many) questions from the moment we booked. Manolo was waiting for us when arrived at Ambergris Caye, and took us to the grocery store before going on to our condo. Juan Carlos welcomed us to the resort, showed us our condo (C1) and gave us the keys to our golf cart that he reserved for us. The condo had everything we needed, and the market around the corner was very convenient. We enjoyed the kayaks and the pool, and loved the visits from the neighbors dogs. We highly recommend this beautiful little piece of paradise!

BEST PLACE TO STAY ON ISLAND!

Wonderful stay at Sunset Beach. Juan Carlos was very helpful; Deb was amazing with quick answers and communicating before our visit. Condo was clean and the location could not have been better. Away from the crowds and views were spectacular.

Perfectly Relaxing

My friend of fifty-plus years and I spent a week in C-1 at Sunset Beach. We were looking for a perfectly relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we found. Juan Carlos was an immensely helpful concierge and helped us connect with scuba diving (Amigos), an excursion to Mayan ruins through Suya, and renting a golf cart for the week. The condo itself was clean and huge for two people; it could easily house 6 to 8 people. We also had groceries waiting for us through Mata Grande, which was very helpful. This was our first time in Belize and after this trip we do hope to return - and C-1 will be on our list of places to stay. A perfectly relaxing vacation!
