Welcome to Dover Retreat, where beach cottage meets modern luxury. This brand-new, five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom, tri-level home boasts a cozy feel, a contemporary design, and an excellent location in South Mission Beach right between the beach and Mission Bay (with bay views!!).

Walk up to the property to be greeted by a lovely patio, with new landscaping, and a gorgeous facade that exemplifies beach cottage luxury. You'll love dining al fresco on the front patio with the family or taking breaks from the beach to enjoy cocktails beneath the umbrella or by the firepit! On the first level, you'll find a spacious bedroom suite with a king-size bed, a flatscreen TV, and an ensuite bathroom, perfect for grandparents. On the second level, you'll find a large living room with a flatscreen TV, a grand, modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a dining area that can seat up to six (plus four more at the breakfast bar!). There is also a large balcony with a BBQ to continue the summer fun, right off the living room and kitchen areas! It's an ideal spot to relax with a snack or cozy up around the fireplace for movie night. This floor also offers a powder room and a restful bedroom with a queen-size bed, a north patio overlooking the front patio, a flatscreen TV, and another ensuite bathroom and standing shower.

On the third level, you'll find a charming loft with natural light, a water view, and two plush twin-size pullout sofas, and two huge love sacks to relax after your day of adventure! There are also three bedrooms and two full bathrooms on this level. The first is perfect for kids, with a double/twin bunk bed and a twin trundle. The middle bedroom has a simple chic queen-size bed, and the final bedroom, or secondary main bedroom, features a queen-size bed, a flatscreen TV, an ensuite bathroom, and a northeast balcony with bay views (perfect for sunrises!). Additional features include air conditioning split units throughout and ceiling fans, strong WiFi and cable, two separate laundry areas (in the pantry and garage), and a large garage for two vehicles.

This home is only a one-minute stroll to the bay and just across the street from the beach and Boardwalk. Mission Beach is San Diego's lively take on the classic beach town, with over five miles of waterfront boardwalk, trendy shops, restaurants, and Belmont Park, a beachfront amusement park featuring the historic Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, miniature golf, bumper cars, rock climbing, and an arcade. Mission Beach is just a few minutes from SeaWorld and an easy drive from the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, San Diego International Airport, and downtown San Diego.

No smoking allowed on the property, including exteriors areas. No pets are allowed in this home (sorry Fido!).

This home has 3 levels and has MULTIPLE staircases. Some people may not be comfortable with this, so please ensure you are before booking.
Your reservation will be confirmed once the Occupancy Agreement has been signed and the initial payment has been received. Photo ID and Credit Card photo verification required to complete booking. We do not accept American Express and Discover.
San Diego Vacation Rentals Cancellation Policy and Pet Fee Policy supersedes the policies of VRBO and AirBnb.

Our cancellation policy will allow you to cancel your reservation up to 30 days prior to your arrival. There is a cancellation fee of 10% of the total payment or $300, whichever is higher. If you cancel your reservation within 30 days of your arrival, there are NO REFUNDS. If you feel that this may cause an issue with your travel itinerary and availability, please consider Travel Insurance.

Spent 5 nights here and enjoyed every moment. The outdoor seating area was super relaxing when we were not on the Bay or the Ocean. Very clean and nice interior. Nice quiet and well maintained home and surrounding area. The large garage was a plus as we drove in from out of state and fit both a Nissan Titan Pro-4x truck and Infinity Q50 car.Nice supply of boogie boards, large tent (that we didn’t use) beach umbrellas and a wagon. However the wagon has seen better days- rusty and wheels breaking. Luckily we brought our own to use.Kitchen was good. Tried to use the propane grill but the self ignition didn’t work and it didn’t heat up. Found another way to light it before finding lighters. But not sure it works right still. We were going to vacuum a little to clean up but the vacuum didn’t work either. Able to use a broom and dust pan only. Those were just small things. Everyone loved the stay and we would love to return here.

Property was prefect for a family vacation. The location was as advertised and very convenient for a morning walk on the beach or a quick trip for coffee at the local coffee shop. It is also an easy trip to the city. The zoo and downtown San Diego were easy to get to and not a long drive. We found the three stories to be great for us where we could have our own personal space and bathrooms. The host was very responsive in any questions I had. I would definitely recommend this property. It’s a great option for families.

This beach house was just right for our annual extended family vacation! Plenty of rooms/bathrooms. Good gathering spaces, Good collection of beach chairs/towels. The enclosed front yard area was great for our little people. Close to the bay and ocean beaches, restaurants, small market. This area is in a flight path but it didn’t bother us much after the first couple days. The garage held our two larger cars and one small one. Truly great house and location!
