This beautiful single-family home located in San Diego's premier Uptown neighborhood of Mission Hills - a district loved for its historic bungalows, upscale eateries, and prime central location. While all upcoming Winter dates have beens spoken for - there will be openings for our guests in Summer 2026. Please check back to review our VRBO Calendar after the Christmas 2025 holidays. Located in the Heart of San Diego's historic Uptown - this bright and airy customized home offers style and privacy for a family of 3 - 4 or two adult couples traveling together! A well-behaved pet is also welcome. The dramatic Open Floorplan boasts vaulted beamed ceilings, a switch-activated gas fireplace, comfortable Pottery Barn and Italian leather furnishings. and gleaming hardwood floors. The open Kitchen is stocked with high-end appliances and cooking tools for the chef-enthusiast. There are 2 bedrooms, separated by private hallways, each bedroom with a high quality King bed and accompanying bathroom with walk-in tiled showers. Enjoy climate-controlled mini-split air-conditioning or thermostatically controlled heating by room, plus the cozy warmth of the Living Room's gas fireplace. Out front - relax under the pergola adjacent the stone driveway which provides one on-site parking space. At the east side of the house - slide glass doors open to enjoy a very private deck terrace - an ideal spot for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Here one can relax and unwind under the stars - enjoying views of the city and nearby canyons. This property's central location is ideal for exploring both Uptown and bustling Downtown San Diego, 1200 acre Balboa Park, and its amazing Zoo. Historic Old Town is 5 minutes down the Washington Street hill. For those who love to walk - stroll a few blocks to upscale food markets, cheese and gelato shops, pizzerias, and specialty restaurants. Picturesque historic homes line the streets of Old Mission Hills while there are dozens of diverse eateries including the city's best bakery + coffee, just 6 blocks west in Hillcrest. If renting a car - this property is 3 minutes from Interstate 5 with spectacular Coronado Island only 10 minutes south, or popular La Jolla 20 minutes to the north. Most conveniently, one can get to San Diego International Airport in less than 10 minutes. The European owners divide their time between Germany and San Diego and take genuine pride in sharing their wonderful San Diego home while away. Our annual VRBO guests often comment how much they LOVE staying here!

I can’t say enough good things about this property. Central to most activities in SD. Walkable to stores and restaurants. Beautiful home, we enjoyed simply hanging out at the house. Also, Kent, the property manager was responsive and really kind. Great experience all the way around!

We have stayed in many vacation properties. This one is at the top of our list. It was so comfortable and clean with every amenity we needed plus more. There are outdoor sitting areas in the front and back with the back balcony table as our favorite. Plus so many restaurants to choose from. Kent was a gracious host. Will definitely stay here again.

A chalet with all the amenities!

My family and I very much enjoyed staying here. The house is extremely well stocked and has any cooking utensil you could possibly need. The house was clean and quiet. Also, all of the household items are nicely maintained and even labeled. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful location and beautiful home.

Nice layout. Great set-up for 2 couples traveling togegher, we each had our own mini suites. Kitchen is well stocked. Great location, lots of places within walking distance for dinig and groceries. Easy access from the airport.Kent met us when we arrived and went over someghings. He was also helpful with suggestions for places to go.Would stay here again.

The house is extremely comfortable in every way. Furniture/Bed are good. Kitchen/Bath are well stocked. We were there in March & the weather was quite cool so we had the fireplace on every night. Made the living area toasty!Part of the attraction is the quiet neighborhood the house is in. In walking distance of groceries & restaurants of all kinds. Close to Balboa Park. Other attractions are not far via freeway. Property manager was very helpful in orienting us to the area. I can recommend this house without hesitation!

If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay within 20 minutes of most everything in San Diego this is your spot. The house had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. Clean, beautiful, peaceful house in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for sitting on the deck (bring or buy mosquito repellent in summer.) Great location easily accessible to the sights and nearby restaurants and Vons. Kent was kind and accommodating, easy to communicate with. I enjoyed my stay immensely!

Great stay

The house is lovely and was a great fit for two couples. Clean with many amenities, close to many restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Short drive to downtown. Kent, the manager, was very helpful and responded quickly when needed. Only room for one car but that worked for us. Would highly recommend.

Great location for greater San Diego

My wife and daughter and I spent a week in this great home. It is exactly as described. It was a perfect location to enjoy all that San Diego has to offer and is 15-20 minutes to just about anywhere you want to go with very little traffic. We would definitely stay here again!

A trip to remember

This VRBO was in the perfect location. Close to everything! It was the best spot for two couples who wanted to see the sites. The hosts had everything we needed and more. The deck was awesome and the lime/lemon trees were the best surprises.

Home Away from Home

We flew in from Florida to welcome our son home from deployment and had a few delays with the day of his arrival. Kent worked with us without any hassle and was super accomodating. The house was perfect! Clean, updated, had everything we needed and Kent took the time to meet us and explain how everything worked. We didn't have one complaint. The neighborhood was quiet and close to everything. It truly felt like home and we would definitely stay here again the next time we are in town. Thank you again Kent!

The property manager gave us a great introduction to the property and all its features. He was readily available to answer any questions throughout our stay. The only thing we would suggest is sheets that are not so crinkly! Highly recommend this place.

The Good Life

Very quiet, comfortable, ample dishes, utensils, appliances, nice deck to enjoy wine from the Vons (amazing selection) 2 blocks away, along with cheese from the cheese shop in walking distance. Or enjoy the donut shop across from Vons. Kent was very responsive. All-in-all an outstanding base from which to enjoy San Diego. Or just to hang out.

Perfect Stay

Our family of four adults visited San Diego to attend my nephew's Marine graduation. The home was perfectly located, so we could quickly go back and forth from the airport and events at MCRD, but it was also a short drive to Torrey Pines/La Jolla. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to make and enjoy meals on the back patio or dining area. It was also less than a 10-minute walk to restaurants, coffee, etc. The home itself was clean, comfortable, thoughtfully arranged, and beautifully decorated. What a gem!
