Welcome to Once Upon A Tide! True to its name with beautiful palm tree views overlooking the tidal marsh and 18th green of the Cotton Dike Golf Course. Once Upon a Tide is your perfect Low Country getaway. Situated in the Bluff Villas area on Dataw Island, this community offers guests historical charm, modern amenities, and natural beauty. Dataw Island is conveniently located just six miles from the town of Beaufort and fifteen minutes from scenic Hunting Island State Park.

Enjoy spectacular views of Jenkins Creek tidal marsh and coastal wildlife as you relax on your deck. Just steps away from this villa is the Dataw Island Club where you can enjoy lunch, dinner or brunch on Sundays. The community dock is a short walk where you can go crabbing, fishing or kayaking. The outdoor resort style pool (seasonal), which overlooks Jenkins Creek, is also a short walk from the villa. You can take a relaxing swim or read a good book while enjoying the coastal breeze.

The villa sleeps up to 7 guests and is tastefully decorated with low country, beach themed artwork, updated amenities, and comfortable furnishings. The first floor offers an open concept kitchen, living room, dining area and has a laundry room (with washer and dryer), and deck with two Adirondack chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with both large and small appliances to satisfy a gourmet chef and is perfect for preparing any meal. The living room has a pull-out queen sectional sofa bed and opens up to a furnished deck space with serene marsh and golf course views. The dining area seats up to six. Additional seating for keeping the chef company or eating a casual meal can be found at the two counter bar stools. The first-floor bedroom has a king size bed with walk in closet, cable TV and en-suite bathroom. The second floor master bedroom with king bed and California closet allows guests to enjoy spectacular sunrise views through panoramic windows. Across the hall, there is also a small third room with one twin bed that shares the second-floor bathroom.

When staying at Dataw Island, you have access to the club amenities like the indoor and outdoor pools, 2 18-hole golf courses and driving range, tennis and croquet courts, and restaurant. Some activities, like golf, tennis and croquet, require a separate charge at the club. Ask about the Stay and Play Golf Package that is available.

All guests staying at Once Upon a Tide will be provided the following:
A starter kit consisting of paper towels, dish detergent, sponges, toilet paper, laundry detergent, hand sanitizer, etc. to last for a couple days. Bed and bath linens are also provided.
