Our week at Kipper Cottage in Wootton Bridge was nothing short of idyllic. Nestled beside a peaceful sea inlet, the location is a true gem—perfect for morning coffees with a view and evening strolls to the water’s edge. The surrounding area is quiet and picturesque, offering a restful escape from the bustle of everyday life.
The accommodation itself was stunning. Thoughtfully decorated with a coastal charm, the cottage felt both luxurious and homely. Every detail—from the cozy furnishings to the well-equipped kitchen—spoke of comfort and care. The garden house was an unexpected delight, providing a serene spot to read, relax, or simply soak in the tranquility of the setting.
However, our experience was marred by disappointing customer service from Island Holiday Homes. Despite the cottage being advertised as dog-friendly, we were charged an additional £30 for dog hair found after our stay—a frustrating and unexpected fee. To add to this, our first full day was disrupted by a washing machine engineer who arrived late, followed by a gardener trimming hedges for half the day later in the week. These interruptions detracted from the peaceful experience we had hoped for.
In summary, Kipper Cottage is a beautiful haven in an exceptional location, perfect for a restful getaway. But be aware that the management company may not match the quality of the accommodation itself.
