Twin Lights Coastal Cottage
Nestled in estate-like setting, this charming cottage offers stunning views of the iconic Twin Lighthouses on Thatcher island. Enjoy easy access to the water and walk to nearby beaches. Completely brand new with all the amenities you will need for a perfect seaside stay, Grill and dine alfresco in private garden, listen to the sounds of the ocean and relax with the calm that fresh ocean air brings! Your cottage oasis awaits your journey!
The cottage was well-appointed, very clean, quietly situated, and had what can only be described as a million-dollar view of the twin lighthouses on Thatcher Island. Check in and out were super easy and our host was dedicated to ensuring our stay was perfect. Do recommend to anyone wanting the quintessential Cape Ann experience.
I rented this property to put up a guest for a week in June. This jewel box of a cottage was exactly as described and illustrated on the site. I think what a web site cannot capture is all the thought and care that went into creating this home by the sea. Everything you would expect in a summer house is present. Chairs and an umbrella to sit under while you view the ocean, check. A charming garden in which to relax and enjoy the shade, check. An outdoor shower when you return from the beach, check. A comfortable bed and bath, a well outfitted kitchen and even a powder room for guests with laundry facilities. This cottage may be small but it lives like a much larger place because the space is laid out and furnished so well and every detail is considered. For example, two of the four dining chairs are on casters so can easily be rolled to other spaces. The host was very considerate and was sure to communicate with me well in advance of the stay. She even allowed an early check in because there was not a guest before us. I highly recommend this property for single person or a couple.
Thanks so much for the wonderful week at the cottage. We woke up every morning to view two beautiful lighthouses and to a great view of the Atlantic Ocean. Definitely want to return to the cottage.
This is a cute cottage in an unbeatable location. Very quiet and picturesque. It's small, but fine for a 3 or 4 night stay. Has just about any amenity one might need. The bathroom is very tight, but adequate. The road you take to get to property is a little confusing the first time, as it's unpaved, single-lane, and winding. We enjoyed our stay and would again. Thank you Sue.
I've stayed in this cottage many times over the course of 30+ years and 3 ownerships. Love the quiet. Often come to write. This owner has done a lot with gardens and exterior. Very pretty. Interior is bright and I love looking down at twin lighthouses while I'm having my coffee in the morning.
This was my third stay at this lovely little cottage. Each stay has been delightful. The cottage is well equipped and impeccable with a pretty little yard and garden. There are so many lovely things to do and see in the area The host is lovely as well and is very knowledgeable about the area. I have thoroughly enjoyed each stay.
Perfect summerâs endâŠNew England as it sound be
Enjoyed everything about my stay - great walks, spectacular views, amazing choices of beaches, fun village, and our host Susan was so helpful and welcomingâa gem!
Return Trip to the Little Cottage with a Great View
This was my second stay at the cottage, and I am so glad that I returned. What a wonderful place to relax, refresh, and regroup. The quiet and peaceful surroundings are a gift. The spectacular view is icing on the cake. The host and neighbors were very kind and cared about the property, which was truly a special place. I hope to return in the near future.
This was a perfect property for our trip. There were 3 of us from 3 very different generations staying here and all of our needs were met. Sue is a FANTASTIC host. The area is gorgeous and plenty to do for all of us.
Charming cottage with a stunning coastal view of Thacher Island
A charming cottage meticulously maintained with a small yard and garden. Conveniently located close to Rockport and Gloucester in a peaceful and quiet setting. The cottage offers a stunning coastal view of Thacher Island and its twin light houses. The place was spotless and thoughtfully appointed for both children and adults. The host was friendly, welcoming, delightful and gave great recommendations with respect to places to enjoy in the area. A lovely place to relax and unwind.
The cottage is a perfect example of a âshore cottageâ - just big enough to be a âhome baseâ while exploring the area, but still comfortable for two adults and a teenager to not be all crammed too close together. It is part of a small group of similar cottages - everyone we met was very friendly. It was close to everything that we wanted to see - Cape Ann itself, as well as Salem, Boston, and even Cape Cod if youâre up for a little longer drive. Nice walks along the shore are right out front. We took a great whale watching tour out of Gloucester. Grocery, drug, and package good stores are in a strip mall just 5 minutes away, and the shops and art studios about two miles away the other direction in Bearskin Neck were wonderful! Between the kitchen and the outdoor grills, we were able to cook for ourselves almost every day - there were also good local places for eating out if desired. Sue, the owner, was very good at communicating and made sure we had a wonderful stay at the cottage. We would gladly stay here again.
We had a lovely time in Rockport, with beautiful weather and a cute cottage. The walks were great along the water. Sue was very accommodating and always in contact with us if we needed anything. I would recommend her cottage!
This property is absolutely charming. Though small, everything you need is provided for. We were in the area for a wedding in Gloucester and found this lovely, vintage cottage instead of staying at the hotel. It is the perfect place if you love to walk by the sea and I highly encourage you to walk down the driveway at the big house on the property to a peaceful area where you can marvel at the gorgeous seaside homes, the rocky coast and of course the twin lighthouses of Thatcher Island. If you are lucky like we were, you will meet the sweet neighbor at the big house and her gorgeous dog! The location is close to a grocery store & package store (2 miles) so you can stock up on your favorite things. The property owner Sue is beyond accommodating, giving suggestions for places to go, to walk to and to dine at. She checked in with us a few times just to make sure we were not in need of anything and to let us know we were there during a rare, full, harvest moon so we wouldn't miss it over the lighthouses. (It was spectacular!) It felt like we were renting from an old friend. The sun coming in to the cottage in the morning is really something too and you can just sit on the couch with your coffee looking out over the ocean. My only regret is that we could not stay longer and take more walks around the area. I'd love to come back in the summer and enjoy the beaches and summer fun the area offers. I highly recommend this lovely cottage!
Our family of five had a wonderful stay at Sueâs cozy and comfortable cottage. It was plenty of room for us with the pullout sofa in the living room. The location was perfect and so close to Rockport and many surrounding towns. We enjoyed the beach pass to Cape Hedge Beach and Long Beach. Also visited many beaches in nearby towns. Grocery stores were right down the road which made shopping for our meals easy. We loved eating our meals outside with the beautiful ocean view! Sue was so helpful and easy to contact. We appreciated her suggestions for places to walk to, drive to and eat. It was great not having to pack beach towels, coolers, umbrella or chairs as all were included at the cottage. Overall a great vacation!
The cottage was in a breath-taking setting with views of the Twin Lights and 3 of the most beautiful moons/moon rivers we'd ever seen. The 4 adults in our group - good friends - fit into the smallish cottage with ease. We all talked about wanting to live in houses that size when we got home! Everything that we needed - and more - was provided. We found great places to walk along the ocean, and found great enjoyment on rocks off a public path.
We have been repeat visitors to cottage 15 for a few years now. We are a family of four and the accommodations are perfect. Not only is the cottage all you need for vacation in a gorgeous location but also every amenity has been included - beach parking sticker, lobster pot, beach chairs, towels, cooler, grill, games and more. Susan couldnât be a more conscientious and hospitable host. We are always sad to leave.
Iâve been coming to the same cottage for over a decade and for whatever reason it is I sleep better here than in my own bed at home and that may be because Iâm completely relaxed with no outside distractions but whatever it is I wake up each morning refreshed . Neighbors in the other cottages are very friendly too.
