Treehouse Over Creek with WiFi, private hiking trails, firepit & swimming hole
Luxury in the forest’s canopy . . . Featuring an over-the-creek and waterfall view, it’s impossible to get any closer to nature. Enjoy the ultimate private experience with two “sleeping pods” each offering a queen suite bedroom with private entrance and bath. If soaking in an oversized, copper tub, gazing at the stars from a private fire pit, taking hot outdoor showers, or baking cookies with a creekside view sounds, like your kind of getaway, then this is what you have been waiting for.
The Treehouse at Huffman Creek Retreat is one of the newest additions to the property. This new build in the forest's canopy next to a creek is tree house master's dream come true. The treehouse is comprised of 3 pods all connected by canopy walkway. The primary queen suite "pod" features a copper soaking tub overlooking the creek and outdoor private shower with forest views. The secondary queen+single suite "pod"offers its own private bathroom and with magical windows framing the surrounding tulip poplar stand.
The kitchen "pod" is an open floor plan concept designed for entertaining and cooking with views of the nearby creek. Open the windows and fill the treehouse with immersive sounds of the rushing mountain water. Enjoy the intimate private swimming hole steps from the front porch. Read a book from one of the soothing rocking chairs.
Experience warming campfires from the private fire ring nestled under dreamy bistro lights. Make s'mores and tell ghost stories while making memories to last a lifetime.
Reconnect with nature while staying in the treehouse. Guest have described a restorative feeling after staying in the Treehouse at Huffman Creek Retreat.
The property of Huffman Creek Retreat is 500+ secluded acres of magic. Guest of the Huffman Creek Retreat are invited to walk the miles of private hiking trail and see the private waterfalls or even a plane wreck. Maps of the property are provided upon arrival.
The town of Robbinsville, North Carolina is located in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountain Region of the southern Appalachian Mountains. Known for it's diverse species of flora and fauna, the region is home to the old growth of Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Slickrock Creek Wilderness Area, Natahala National Forest, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
From Huffman Creek, you're only moments to the secluded cool waters of Lake Santeetlah. The lake boasts almost an entirely undeveloped shoreline with 75% being home to National Forest. With a restricted number of residences, the quiet lake is ideal for boating, fishing, swimming, and any of your favorite water sports. We always recommend reaching out to Smoky Mountain Kayak fishing for help planning your day out on the water.
Take a short drive to Highway 129 and take on the adventure of driving the 'Tail of the Dragon.' The world-renowned road is a challenge even for the greatest road warriors with 318 curves in just 11 miles. Continue on your journey and loop back around to Huffman Creek on the Cherohala Skyway, which winds a mile high through mountaintop ridges of the Cherokee National Forrest. Purpose built for auto touring, and at a cost to tax payer of $2 million dollars a mile, plan to take your time as the Cherohala is full of magnificent vistas.
For the history buffs, you're just a short drive to Cherokee, North Carolina, home to the eastern Band of the Cherokee. Try your luck at Harrah's Cherokee Casino or visit one of the many restaurants, shops, and museums.
Embrace your inner adventurer and head down the Nantahala River. Featuring a combination of Class II and III rapids, there is something for the novice and full-on adrenaline junkie. Be sure to contact one of the multiple rafting companies in Bryson City to schedule your full day of adventure.
For the more experienced paddler or for fantastic site seeing, experience the river release of the Cheoah. Full of Class IV and V rapids this river is not for faint of heart or beginner. Between white water rafting, zip-lining, mountain biking, and horse back riding, you'll be ready to relax when you arrive back at Huffman Creek.
Enjoy the quieter side of your stay just steps outside of your door. Take a nap by the private creek while you enjoy friends and family fishing for trout.
There is certainly nothing more therapeutic than curling up in the Hemlock Cabin during the occasional afternoon rain on the tin roof or warming up by the fire and enjoying the modern convenience of a twilight movie.
Head down to the fire pit for an evening of stories, laughs, good eats, and of course, smores.
See the enchanting synchronous fire flies indigenous only to this area of Appalachia.
Huffman Creek's private residence offers an abundance of opportunity for the culinary enthusiast to prepare a quick picnic to take along for the day's hike or a full feast to celebrate a day of outdoor fun and relaxation.
