House On The Hill majestic ocean view walking distance to beach and restaurants

The apartment is situated on over 1/2 acre of private property, surrounded by a lush jungle. Up on the hill you stay away from bugs, heat and the dreaded sandflies. Our property allows you to live like a local and experience the island of Roatan in a more authentic style, secluded by the hill and the jungle around the house, away from the crowds, while being close enough to West End and West Bay, and quite a few amenities at walking distance. Situated in the quiet neighbourhood of Sandy Bay, House on the Hill is the ideal place for a relaxing stay. The apartment is ideally located, nested in a hilltop with a breathtaking ocean view.

The house is up on a hill as the name states, and it’s not a good fit for people with mobility issues. It’s a set of stairs with aproximately 160 steps up. All our guests find the trek worthwhile.

There is a discount for stays over 28 nights for people wishing to live like a local for a month or two.

We live on the property with three amicable island rescue dogs, who will happily keep you company, if you wish. We also help our guests with recommendations, tips and local knowledge. The guest entrance is private with an outside gate. You are welcome to use the back yard. You also have your own private ocean view balcony with outside dining with as well as hammocks. There is space to hang your wet beach towels and clothes off the line on the side balcony.

The hill is surrounded by jungle, so it feels very much secluded, while being right across the main road from Sandy Bay beach, four restaurants, three dive shops and an authentic and safe local / expat mixed neighborhood. Experience the real Roatan, like a local.
