The owner's driving directions said, "GPS will get you there." NOT TRUE! Going towards Mt. Hood, there are TWO Faubion Loop turnoffs from Hwy 26. Take the second one. Then immediately turn left onto E Pinner Road, a scary steep dirt path that looks like a Third World country. At the top of the hill, it turns right and becomes E Jennie Lane. Here's where the real fun begins. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITH A LOW CLEARANCE CAR. The huge potholes are insane, and if you encounter another car, there is nowhere to pull off to the side. Also, contrary to the map, Jennie Loop is NOT a loop, it's a dead end. Go out the same way you came in. THIS ROAD IS A NIGHTMARE. We will never come here again unless the road is graded.
The cabin itself was spacious, with a 1970's vibe, kind of dark and gloomy. Couldn't see what we were doing in the kitchen. The enormous deck was the best part. What bothered me was when you pay a lot of money to rent a place, you expect to have the space to yourself. Not here. The owner's family's clothing and food was everywhere, stuffed into drawers & cabinets. Lots of handyman work to be done. The refrig & freezer had half-eaten condiments and ice cream, which was nauseating.
The bunkbed room was pretty much a cramped storage closet with broken lighting fixtures and junk stuffed onto the upper bunk. The upstairs bedroom was nice. The toilet space was tight - I barely fit in there, and I'm 4'11". The shower head was aimed for someone 7 feet tall - crazy!
