Région de Louga
Région de Louga
It has been a dream to see the Baobab trees of Madagascar. While these in Senegal are not as grand or tall, still felt a flurry in my heart seeing, touching and exploring an actual Baobab đŸ„°

The cavities within the tree trunks of old baobabs are as large as rooms and people use them as shrines, altars, and tombs as well as roadside kiosks and workshops. Due to their size and longevity (a Baobab is at least a few thousand years), baobabs are important landmarks in Senegal’s dry savanna plain. In ancient times these giant trees were even used as a border marking between states. #baobab #senegal
