The view from the lookout on Mt Slocombe, located near Yaraka, Queensland. The views overlook the Yang Yang Ranges and nearby farming plains. This shot was taken at dawn just as the sun was about to break above the horizon on the other side of the lookout. I was surprised how still it was atop the mountain (or technically a jump up). Make sure you stop by this lookout and enjoy a refreshing drink with the friendly locals at the Yaraka Hoel before traveling further west into Outback Queensland. #queensland #australia
Mt Slocombe lookout offers vast views across outback Queensland and is a great spot to catch sunrise or sunset. It's just a 5min drive from the town of Yaraka where you can rest for the night at the homely pub (I can personally recommend it) before venturing further west towards Birdsville. #queensland #australia #nationalpark #goldenhour
This shot was actually taken just outside Winton, 180km from Longreach! I wish I knew how to add locations to Trover! Lol. I love Winton because it's the really real Aussie outback. The dinosaur museum is world class and well worth a visit and a tour. The food is great at Tattersalls pub and the rooms are clean and cool at the North Gregory.
