Kauri Homestead: Family Hideaway in Raglan's Heart

Our house is warm and sunny, and feels secluded despite being very central. The original structure is a 150-year-old native timber cottage and around this we've built a modern home in classic style. This house has all of the mod cons, but with a rustic, countryside feel, surrounded by fruit trees and gardens.

Note that this is a family home and as such will feel 'lived-in', the house won't be empty of belongings, though it will be clean and tidy and you'll have plenty of space.
The space
The main living area has a spacious kitchen, dining area, and cosy lounge with a woodfire and heatpump, connected to a sunny, sheltered back deck overlooking a private lawn, with space to relax outdoors and for kids to play.

Upstairs there is a second lounge/office/yoga space with attached balcony, kids bedroom with bunks (full sized single beds suitable for adults), and 'master bedroom' with a queen bed.

The bathroom has a luxurious shower, laundry, and easy to use, modern composting toilet. There is also an outdoor shower and bath.

There are two bedrooms (one queen, one bunk bed) and a sofa bed in the upstairs lounge.

While this spot is walking distance to the centre of Raglan town and the wharf, water and shops, it feels quite hidden-away and quiet.
Guest access
You'll have the house and the space around it to yourself, including parking space for up to three vehicles. The house is on a shared driveway and we ask that you be respectful of the neighbours.
Other things to note
-We have a cat called Mitsy, who is very friendly and relaxed (and will be fed by our neighbour); best not to stay here if you are allergic to cats.

-There are neighbours living close by as this is shared land, so please no noisy parties.
