My bucket list is to visit all 59 of the US National Parks. So far, we've been lucky enough to explore over 30. Here's one of them. Mesa Verde National Park is the only cultural #nationalpark of the 59 "set aside to preserve the work of man." Beyond cliff dwellings, there are beautiful canyons and it's not too far away from Four Corners National Monument where Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado meet making for a great.

Even more fun than following the designated hiking trails is traversing the natural gas pipeline path. It is steeper than this looks and quite rocky beneath the wispy grasses that have grown over the pipe, and it affords great views above the Target Tree Campground in the Dolores district just east of Mancos.

We have had a huge snow year down in the southern Rockies. The high country is buried in snow. But at the mid elevations in the Hesperus area near Durango Colorado the effects of the increased moisture can be seen quite clearly. The lupines and mules ears are blooming amazing at the moment.
