« Bien que propre, le studio est trop petit si vous êtes plus que deux personnes. Une fois le divan-lit ouvert, il devient difficile de circuler. De plus, demandez une chambre sans personne au-dessus parce qu’on entend les gens marcher sur notre tête. Les lieux sont trop isolés à notre goût. Nous ne recommandons pas particulièrement cet endroit. »

« Enjoyed the stay only thing bed was too hard and pillow was too flat no fluff in it at all. Other than that we enjoyed it granddaughter enjoyed the pool and made new friends. Mahalo! »

« Very nice vacation suite, nicely stocked kitchen with many appliances to use. The patio opens up just outside pool/hot tub area. Love the location, just down the road from black sand beach. This was our second time staying in Colony 1, can't wait to come back again! »

« It was very convenient location in Hilo. Next to lovely grounds. I did not see a hot tub, but did use pool. We had a mountain view but not an ocean view. The 3 balconies were great for viewing. For the price this is a good value. The bathtubs are old. But, they work fine. It is an older unit and building, but it was comfortable. Two bedroom and two bathrooms. Has coffee filters and shampoo. Has parking under facility. Walkable to a beach and lovely park area. »

« Clean unit, Old Hawaii style complex, grounds are well kept with pretty flowers and palms, coastal ocean view from this units ground floor lanai...pool has coastal view too. Feels private most of the time.Unit has 2 units above and one on side...if your neighbors are noisy at night you are going to hear them...needs some kind of sound deadening for the ceiling. »

« Our stay at this property was amazing. We loved the condo. The ocean views were amazing, and the home felt very comfortable, clean, and relaxing. We loved that it is remote, and out of the tourist core. The complex is relatively quiet and very peaceful. We are already hoping to stay again. »

« Very nicely kept and quiet property away from everything. About a 2 hour drive from the airport, but easy enough. Very close to the black sand beach and Volcano park. Only downside was no air conditioning, but it cooled off nicely at night with the windows open. It was comfortable for our group of 5 for the 2 days we were there. Thanks! »

« The house was beautiful and location was ideal for visiting Volcanoes National Park and black sand beach. Only knock we have was the shower water temperature never got very warm. While it wasn’t cold, it wasn’t ideal either. Otherwise 5 stars! »

« The unit was exactly as pictured. The grounds and the lanai view were gorgeous and old time Hawaiian, with lava walls everywhere. Very laid back and quiet rural area, easy walk to the beach. The first day there we saw a turtle and a small eel hanging out in the tidepools. Comfortable bed and nice unit, beautiful large shower with stone floor. Well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the pool. No issues getting into the unit. Great place to get away from it all. »
