The ocean view was the best part about this hotel suite room. You can watch the sunset from your porch. We were a little surprised how dated the room was, especially the bathroom. The shower curtain rings were rusty and the tub/bath was not very "romantic". There is no microwave allowed in this style unit, so this made for no cooking at all. You can use the outdoor kitchen by the second pool if you want to cook with the neighbors. It only had a coffee maker, small fridge and small countertop area. I would recommend better coffee mugs. Those were tiny. There was little to no hanging room in the cleaning closet for clothes. As well as a dresser that had linens and books in it that I had to remove to put our clothes in. We had one luggage rack for two of us. There were two small bedside lamps that barely lit up the space. I also had to move one to see my luggage in the corner. Overall we liked the Hanelai Bay Resort, it had lovely grounds and a beautiful pool. The hot tub was full all the time, we never got in it..it's tiny! You cannot park close to this unit, you can have the golf cart take you to it if you don't want to walk 5 min to the lot. We used it for check in only. It's has very hilly paved paths which were great for us, we love walking. But good to know for people that don't! There is a steep path that takes you down to a beach, roughly a 15 min walk. Very pretty down there and you can eat at The One's Hotel bar or beachside restaurant too. We loved HI!
