« Warm welcome and amazing, helpful staff team. Lovely clean rooms and great water pressure. Buffet style cooked breakfast was only thing that was not 100% ... one day it was all pretty dried under the lights, although the next stay it was much busier and breakfast was fresher as turnaround of stock was faster. We ate one night in the restaurant and the food was good but a little pricy, although expected for a hotel restaurant. We would definitely stay again if in the area. »

« The hotel is well placed to explore the area. The room was comfortable, clean and great for the 2 nights we stayed. The bar was cosy with the wood burner on, breakfast set you up for the day and dinner was tasty and substantial 😁 The staff were friendly and helpful; we would stay again »

« We used the Hare & hounds as a stopover on our way home but will give serious consideration to returning to explore the Lakes from there »

« Vue exceptionnelle sur la rivière et le pont en pierre refait en 1818. Près de tout à pied. Magnifique endroit. Personnel attentionné et professionnel. »

« Friendly staff, large rooms, great choice at breakfast all freshly cooked. Will visit again! »

« The property was was pretty much as expected, The room was clean and big. The issue we had was there did not seem to be sufficent sound deading between the rooms, as we could hear voices from other rooms. Could not hear what they were saying, but could near the noise. Luckily they went to bed about the same time we did and did not wake up before we did, but it not what we wanted or expected. It was in a very isolated location. That was not a problem for us, but something to be aware of. ...

« We had cabin 1 and it was great. Hot tub, wood, everything was lovely and well thought out. Everything you need was there »

« Super hôtel personnel professionnel »

« The room was lovely and clean. Super comfy bed and I really loved the dine-in kit. The hot tub was a great addition, very clean and easy to use. Had great communication with the team. Thank you ! »

« The property has real presence and looks stunning. Its decor is in keeping with the property and looks a bit worn but makes it feel loved. Breakfast was good but we had to wait both days for the food to be topped up as there’s only one waiter trying to do everything. The room was large and bed was comfy. The bathroom was not good no water pressure so water came out very slowly and not very hot. Shower unit was very noisy and no heating for such a big bathroom apart from a towel rail so it was...

« Lovely old building, well located and enough parking at the back of hotel in side street. Comfortable bed, room was well maintained, especially the bathroom. Room was spacious enough for one person. »

« Nice, Big Room! Beautiful Decorated House. Helpful and Friendly staff. »

« Everything was fine really. Just the carpets were very old and stained. Great breakfast and dinner was nice. Beds need a little upgrade. »

« Location was ideal for an overnight stay on the way to Scotland. Home cooked food in the restaurant was great. Parking was very convenient. »

« Rooms are very comfortable and wifi is working well Staff very friendly Excellent breakfast I would recommend this hotel! »

« The hotel is beautiful from the outside and located in such a picturesque area but the room we got was a disappointment. Located on the first floor and tucked in a corner, it did not match the pictures on the site and looked rather old (except for the bathroom), with an uncomfortably slumping mattress. The view was on some sort of roof/installation that nearly blocked all light. I will add that other rooms, which I saw the next morning while housekeeping was cleaning, looked much better. I'm...
