The cabin was awesome. It was small but cozy and well appointed. For us the location was perfect. We were there for Yellowstone, fishing, and a couple of concerts at the fabulous Pine Creek Lodge and it was perfect for all 3. Under 10 minutes to Emigrant fishing access on the Yellowstone River, 40 minutes to YNP, and 20 minutes to Pine Creek Lodge. It was about 30 minutes to Livingston. Its directly behind Chico Hot Springs so a quick soak or a drink is 5 minutes away, and easy to find. The Cabin itself is an authentic yet updated 19th century homestead cabin thoughtfully decorated and situated on a fast running stream in Old Chico; a ghost town with a few residents scattered along the road. It has a very private and quiet feel with just a spectacular view. Sarah creatively created a stay that made you feel right at home yet a part of the landscape. Sitting on the porch was peaceful and quiet. There is a great assortment of interesting books about the area, including fiction information and photography. My wife stayed behind one day and lazed about enjoying the quiet. The kitchen is small, but very serviceable. We cooked several meals there and did not find it lacking. What was nice is that the utensils and plates were of decent quality, and not the thrift store junk found in most rentals. There was was room for my wife and I and our 18 year old son. I would say that sleeping 5 would be tight, unless ot was 3 small kids.
