Our stay in the VIP suite was globally awesome. The restaurant A Terra is really good with some great fish and meat dishes. The breakfast is massive and has a lot of choices. The room was big, perfectly clean and the bed large and comfortable. The hotel crew was very helpful and very nice, especially at the restaurant/breakfast.
The only issue was the swimming pool. First of all, the pictures on the hotel’s website are very misleading as it is actually an outdoor pool and not an indoor one. It wasn’t heated at all during our 12 days stay because they were working on a new SPA and when you know the weather in february in Sao Miguel, this is pretty much a deal breaker.
I still found rather unacceptable that we could not use the pool at all during our stay. This was definitely not worthy of a 5 stars hotel.
