Prana Maya Island Resort is an intimate luxury retreat set on five acres of a private, mangrove-fringed island — Placencia Caye — just off the coast of southern Belize. Opened in 2025, the resort pairs ten oceanfront suites at The Inn with seven multi-bedroom villas, each framed by panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and the island lagoon. Eco-conscious design, indigenous woodwork, and handcrafted Belizean art run throughout, creating a serene, wellness-centered sanctuary that feels wholly at one with its surroundings. About Placencia

Prana Maya sits just off the southern tip of the 16-mile Placencia Peninsula, with the colorful village of Placencia only a short boat ride away. Once a sleepy fishing village, Placencia is now the cultural and social heart of the region — a laid-back stretch of boutiques, beachfront bars, cafés, and one of Belize's most beloved beaches. The resort's complimentary piloted boats run to the mainland throughout the day, so the village's Caribbean energy is always within easy reach.

Getting here

Getting to the island is part of the escape. Fly into Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) near Belize City — a short, direct flight from many U.S. and Canadian cities. From there it is roughly a 35-minute domestic flight to Placencia, or a scenic drive down the peninsula. The resort coordinates the final leg: a brief transfer to the Placencia pier, then a private boat across the lagoon that reaches the island in about five minutes.
