Cyndi our host was spectacular! Would not have been as welcoming and lovely without her! She went out of her way to make my stay a great one. She is so humble and conscientious and perfect for her position!
We enjoyed the Executive Suite on the 3rd floor. Be aware that the inn is undergoing some renovations and, while that didn't impact us much, others may feel differently. The wi/fi was a little spotty on the 3rd floor but worked well in the common areas on the first floor and the huge front porch.
The best part of our stay was the host, Cyndi. She was attentive but not intrusive and was great to chat with. The Expedia listing said there was a continental breakfast but Cyndi gave us a hot breakfast every day.
The neighborhood around the inn is about halfway gentrified, but it was close to so many things. We were able to walk to dinner most nights of our stay, and all the north shore museums and stadiums were within about a 20 minute walk. Don't miss the National Aviary across the street in the park.
The room was musty and had severe water damage on the walls above bed and ceilings. There was a loud noisy window air conditioner. The size was comfortable but the room and bathrooms weee old. It was clean. There were no upgrades for Expedia VIP gold/silver. They had other rooms they open they could have chosen. However breakfast was great and staff was (Cyndi) was wonderful. location was easy and comfortable, parking was plentiful. No restaurants in area open on Mondays.
The beautiful historic home is located next to a park, and is within walking distance to Acrisure Stadium where we attended a concert. Walking back to the inn at night as a female felt slightly intimidating. There were no issues encountered during the walk. The accommodations differ from standard hotels, as there is no elevator, ice machine, or mini fridge. Parking on the street is free and was not problematic in finding a parking spot. Overall, it is a location worth visiting again.
Sam was very pleasant and responsive. Great building, but needs some updates by the new owners. Location is right across from a park and close to downtown.
The Boggs Mansion is a restored old mansion with 8 rooms all of which are different. Guests are welcomed by a live-in house manager who attends to guest needs and provides breakfast each day. My wife and I loved our stay. The free parking, price point, large room, and downtown proximity were a big plus as was Samantha, the house manager. The mansion is old, however, and while rooms were homey and large, they do lack some of the things you find in a newer hotel (better lighting, larger bathroom). But then what else would you expect from an old classic Mansion, Right? If we visited Pittsburgh again, we would go back.
The history and ambience of this property is worth the visit alone. The staff is more than welcoming and the facility is beautiful. Boggâs Mansion is well worth the visit for any North Shore activities you have planned.
Great and cozy stay in Pitt, very walkable to downtown and the stadiums. Staff was super kind and accommodating. Will plan to stay here every time in headed to Pittsburgh.
Sam was an absolute pleasure to have as a host. Sam went above and beyond for me and my husband. Even as far as keeping an eye on the weather for us as we had a 7 hour drive back home. Keeps plenty of snacks and drinks stocked for guests. You always see Sam maintaining the property from sunrise to sunset. I would love to come back every time we visit the Pittsburgh area. Off street parking in the front for free as well as parking in the back. We did not get to experience the courtyard due to weather but we say was beautiful. Sam brings a sense of home to a historic building. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a quiet couples getaway. I wouldnât recommend children personally (as a mother) since it is a rather old building so sound definitely carries through the walls or floorboards. Sam also gives a brief 5 minute historic walkthrough as you check in and gives you a history to the building and surrounding area that involved the Boggs family. Old photographs were placed in a binder in the parlor for guests to look at. And if you want to leave a kind note for Sam there is a notepad there with nothing but positive reviews from 2022. I know most of the reviews center around the famous chocolate chip cookiesâŠ.my husband the biggest sweet tooth I know said âHoney these are the best cookies I have ever put in my mouth.â Only downfall is no elevator for those who need one. I hope you all love it as much as my husband and I did.
We always enjoy a stay at the Bogg's mansion. It is always comfortable, quiet, and beautiful. We like the breakfast nook; it encourages chatting with other guests, which is like being around the same table in a smaller BnB.
Boggs Mansion was a beautiful place to stay. Across the street was a wonderful park. Sam was very hospitable and gave us a tour of the property. Definitely worth staying!
We stayed at the In for a wedding which the reception was held at the Mattress Factory. It took about 5 minutes walking to it, very convenient walking back after the party. The neighborhood was lovely with a nice park across from the Inn; many historic buildings to appreciate while exploring the town. The Innâs staff was very friendly and helpful. I had the homemade welcome chocolate chip cookies. We like the Victoria style decor and our room was spacious, for two of us, there was a king size bed in the bedroom area, a full size kitchen, a small bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a small living room area.
