Retraite familiale en bord de mer ou juste une paix et une tranquillité

Le chalet se trouve sur un endroit calme et privé surplombant Penobscot Bay. Les vues occidentales de la baie de Penobscot pour de magnifiques couchers de soleil sur l'eau. 900 pieds de façade au rivage, cadre silencieux avec pont privé. Un phare à travers la baie continue de diriger de grands navires vers Bucksport. Dans le brouillard, vous pouvez entendre le son de la corne de brouillard toutes les 7 secondes. La plage est un endroit idéal pour marcher, ramasser le verre de plage et le bois flotté. Nos habitués aiment construire des forts sur la plage avec les nombreuses formes et tailles de bois flotté qui se lavent. Il y a aussi quelques lacs dans la région si vous souhaitez visiter de l'eau douce.

Nous sommes à égale distance de Belfast, Bangor et Ellsworth. Court trajet vers de nombreuses villes côtières du Maine; 12 min à Blue Hill, à 7 minutes de Castine, à 45 minutes du parc national d'Acadia et 60 minutes à Camden / Rockport.

Je fais mon magasin d'épicerie majeur à Bucksport, une promenade paisible de 10 milles.
Une chambre au rez de chaussée a un lit double, une chambre à l'étage a un lit double et les deux autres jumeaux.

Le Maine a une histoire littéraire riche - et si vous amenez vos enfants, prenez une copie de certains favoris de Robert McCloskey; Un matin dans le Maine, Burt Dow Deep Water Man, Time of Wonder. Nous pouvons vous donner des indications pour Condon's Garage afin que vous puissiez manger de la glace au port et lire ces livres iconiques à vos enfants. La pierre tombale de Burt Dow se trouve à une courte distance en voiture de là, et les habitants l'ornent régulièrement avec une bouée peinte. Nous aimons penser des visites de Giggling Gull de temps en temps.

This was our 3rd time staying at Venessa’s cottage so we were comfortable as we walked through the door. Venessa welcomes us as always. Though she lives across the yard she is never intrusive. The cottage has everything you need and the beds are comfortable. There are a lot of steps to the shore and the pebble/stone beach but they are worth it. You can walk long way along the shore finding sea glass and seeing seals, eagles, osprey and sea birds. The shore feels private as I only encountered people 3 times during my walks.

Venessa was very friendly and the property is lovely located overlooking the Penobscot River and Bay. We stayed for a week as a couple with four kids and enjoyed the house and the beautiful natural surroundings. We went raspberry picking in the garden, played on the beach and a deer visited us just below the deck. Thanks again Venessa for the nice stay. Tom&Anouk&Family

I stayed for a week in October. The house was lovely and I felt right at home. I appreciated the cottage feel to the place. The sunsets and walks along the beach were just what I needed.

Peaceful, beautiful location.

This is our third year staying here, and it’s quickly become our favorite place to get away to. The location is beautiful, it’s quiet and pretty secluded despite not being far from town. It’s a quick ride into Bucksport for groceries, with lots of great places for day trips around the area. The property itself is gorgeous. We love being able to sit out on the deck and read or watch the sunset over the water. The accommodations themselves are clean and comfy and provide everything we need for an easy stay. I highly recommend a trip here for anyone looking for a little bit of relaxation!

Our 5th year

Our home away from home. Venessa is always attentive to anything we need. The house is perfect in every way and had everything we needed. I think seeing people returning year after year speaks for itself. Can’t wait for next year.

Peaceful yet fun

This was our second time staying at Venessa’s cottage, and we enjoyed it as much this time as the last. Shortly after arriving Venessa checked to see if everything looked good which it did. The cottage is clean and neat with everything you need. It is not fancy, but it is very honey The WiFi was great. We had no problem connecting and using it. To get away from electronics you will find a good selection of books and games for children and adults. The beach is typical for Maine ranging from tiny pebbles to rocks. Bring a pair of sneakers or aqua shoes and you are ready to walk the beach. There is beach to walk with all tides but at low tide you can walk a long ways finding sea glass along the way. The yard is well kept and a great spot for children to play. If you can tear yourself away from the cottage there are great day trips to Castine, Blue Hill and Bucksport, which have interesting things to do and see. If you are looking for a lovely quiet place by the water this cottage is it. Thank you Venessa for sharing your cottage. Janice and Jim

So very peaceful

It was a beautiful week. My grandchildren roamed the beach for hours finding treasures. It was very relaxing and we found a swimming beach just 10 minutes away. We can't wait to go back and see all the seals and other wildlife that presented itself periodically during our stay.

Beautiful and tranquil

Our stay in Penobscot was absolutely perfect. The home is located right on the bay with beautiful sunset views across the water. We loved taking walks down the beach and coffee on the porch, our daughter had a great time exploring and playing on the beach as well. Can’t recommend this home enough, also had great communication with Vanessa who was super nice and helpful with any questions we had!

Amazing view, rustic cabin-like house

The view is amazing—a stunning westward view of Penobscot Bay, including a small lighthouse across the bay (the light isn’t bright enough to be bothersome at night). The stove and fridge work well, the central heat was great, and we didn’t have any plumbing issues. The beds were rather hard, and we were surprised that one of the bedrooms (the one with the twin beds) had a curtain instead of a door. The walls downstairs are covered with particle board, which wasn’t a problem, but was a surprise. For our group of 3, it worked well. Venessa was helpful, and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely and relaxing getaway.

This is our second year visiting this lovely property, and once again we had a wonderful stay! The house is clean, comfortable, and in the most perfect, serene location. We love having the option of cooking our own meals in the fully equipped kitchen, which had everything we needed. The bathroom was clean, and had plenty of hot water and good water pressure for showers. The location is absolutely beautiful. We love spending time searching for sea glass on the beach, and enjoying dinner out on the deck overlooking the water. It’s so peaceful and quiet here, the perfect spot to read a book and really escape from reality for a while. Venessa is such a wonderful host, she’s so kind and accommodating for both us and our pups. On the last day of our trip we ran into some car trouble, and Venessa even helped put us in touch with someone who could get us running again! We truly love staying at the lovely property and hope to be back next year.

Wonderful getaway!

Such a beautiful place, on the bay and surrounded by trees. The lack of light pollution made stargazing simply amazing. Very clean and comfortable and we had all we needed for a relaxing stay. Easy drive to Bar Harbor and surrounding area. Venessa was just wonderful and so very nice. Looking forward to another stay here!

Slice of heaven

The hosts were wonderfully kind and helpful. The beach front is a one of a kind experience of privacy and peacefulness. The cottage met all our needs including front yard and deck for the pups to have a great vacation too!! We will return!!

Year 4 Fox family vaca

If you want to build memories this is the spot smack dab between Belfast Bangor and Bar Harbor. We personally like the smaller towns of Castine, Bucksport and all the quaint towns towards Brooklin and Stonington. The house has everything we needed and Venessa and Matt are very accommodating to any needs. We hope to return with our kids year after year as they too love this special place. A great place to unwind.

A magical retreat!

We enjoyed staying in this gem of a hideaway cottage so much! It was absolutely lovely! There were so many thoughtful touches!
