My husband and I just spent 4 nights in this apartment, this is the 3rd time we have rented Paris apartments. The owner, Stacey, was very accommodating in allowing us an early checkin, and quickly responded to email questions. Valerie met us upon arrival and explained how everything works. She even made my husband open the front door himself to assure he knew the correct procedure.
The best thing about this apartment is the location. Good shops nearby for croissants, groceries, and just about anything you might want, and there are 2 metro stops very close by. The neighborhood is great for walking - the Musee d’Orsay is very close, and next to it is the RER station to go to/from the airport. Besides the many pleasures of the San Germain area, the Tuileries Garden/Louvre, etc. are right across the bridge. While local restaurants were fine, our best meal was at Guy Savoy's restaurant Atelier Maitre Albert, about a 28 minute walk or by metro. Excellent food, wine and service in an elegant setting, and a reasonable price.
The apartment was clean, quiet and safe, the tiny kitchen has all you need for simple meals, (we did not really cook) and the appliances are of good quality. The bathroom gets a rave review - large, and with a wonderful shower. The washer/dryer combo is very useful.
Downside: The photos on the listing are accurate for what they show, but misleading in the sense that they do not give any idea of how small this apartment is. This being said, the apartment is adequate for 2 people, but if the sofa bed is opened in the living room, there would be little room left to walk. Also, unless you don’t mind having neighboring apartments being able to look into yours, keeping the drapes closed makes the apartment rather dark. Furnishings are sparse by necessity, the bed is comfortable, but it would be nice to have some sort of small shelf for items like an alarm clock, eyeglasses or cell phone.
While I would not call it “elegant”, I would certainly recommend this apartment - simple, clean, comfortable, and in a great location.
