Pardubice became a town sometime around 1340. Back then it was owned by the Lords of Pardubice, the most prominent figure of the line being Arnošt of Pardubice, the first Archbishop of Prague, advisor and friend to Emperor Charles IV, a distinguished European personality of that time. Buildings on the square and adjacent streets bear the oldest traces of early gothic architecture. The neo-renaissance city hall of Pardubice is the main focal point.

The emblem, which Pardubice has been using as its symbol since the 12th century, is created from a silver horse on a red background. The city experienced its greatest flourishing during the time, when the estate belonged to the noble family the Pernštejns, who gave the historical centre of Pardubice’s its appearance. They say that Pardubice is a city of sports, horses and gingerbread, and it can also be considered the city of transportation. The historically first railway route from Olomouc to Prague leads through here, an international airport is situated here, you can reach the city by car and perhaps even by boat soon. "Hotel occupé qu'une nuit. Que dire ? Les espaces sportifs semblent geniaux (non testé). Le restaurant est tres bons, le service au top, le petit dejeuner est en buffet, varié et régulièrement réapprovisionné. Les chambres sont propres, sans vis-à-vis, bien insonorisées. La literie est bonne, la salle de bain avec douche de belle taille. Un joli parc fait face à la salle du petit dejeuner (avec des cervidés)"

"Hôtel de l'ère soviétique rénové à minima. Chambre exiguë sans climatisation, sans ventilateur (caution obligatoire), sans bouteille d'eau (malgré la canicule), sans réfrigérateur, sans sèche-cheveux. Fenêtre de la chambre jamais nettoyée à l'ouverture problématique. Salle de bain super étroite. Impossibilité de se garer devant la réception sauf à utiliser l'immense parking payant (tarifs élevés). "
