Many visitors to Mongolia go to Terelj National Park which is amazing and just an hour out of Ulaanbaatar. But you'd be better off going three hours out and seeing nomadic life in the real. This is in Khentii Protected Area.

Here's proof that the kids did come on camp with me. I got a bit hoarse reminding them not to try to climb to the very top. Each small group wanted to go higher than the ones just above them. You can't tell, but we are already on the top of a high hill then nearly on top of the rocky outcrop on top of the high hill. (see my last photo for perspective)
