One of the most common places for the new visitor to the Blue Ridge Parkway is the Flat Top Lookout Fire Tower. This is one the most spectacular lookout that a person can visit for the first time. The Fire Tower as it is called by the local was originally built to monitoring the surrounding mountain, and by its very design is crafted/ located in the perfect place to see the breath-taking valleys and mountain around it. As time went on the Fire Tower started to become less and less important as a monitoring stations, and was eventually turned into a hiking/ tourist attraction. By design/location, it would become extremely important to the local community and was the first hiking spot I had ever visited in the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The views on the hike up Flat Top Mountain are epic and never ending. The 40ft tower on the top of the mountain is the icing on the cake as you can see clearly is every direction.

We visited Mystery Hill and it is something I think about when describing this region. It is a picture that I feel many people from the region have in their minds from a previous visit or an outsider may feel for a similar place from their hometown. I chose to only take a picture of the sign because it is more direct than a picture of the Mystery Hill building.
