Your quintessential Alaskan cabin in the woods!

Welcome to Whispering Pines Hideaway, a charming and rustic cabin that sits atop a forested hill. The cabin feels secluded and peaceful, yet is in a central location close to all the Palmer/Wasilla area has to offer and also a quick drive to Anchorage. Enjoy some local coffee or tea on the deck, admire art by local Alaskan artists, and sit by the fireplace and read a book by an Alaskan author. You are sure to be cozy in this home away from home.

You`ll enter into the cabin through a small arctic entryway that leads to the living room. You`ll see a gas fireplace in front of you. From the couch, you can read a book or watch TV on the 55` television with access to Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+.

To your right you`ll see the full bath, with a tub and shower. Outside the bathroom, you`ll find the stairs that lead to the loft bedroom, a spacious area with a queen bed and a door that leads to a small deck. There are bedside lamps with USB chargers and a small TV available in the bedroom. Off the bedroom is a half bath with a sink and toilet, and a small walk in closet. The bathrooms offer samples of locally made lotion by Grey Fox.

Downstairs through the living room you`ll find the full kitchen equipped with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. To your right you`ll see the coffee station with samples from locally roasted Farm Loop Coffee and Felicity Loft tea. There is also a small laundry room with a combo washer dryer. Past the kitchen you`ll find a dining area with room for four. Don`t forget to sign the guest book on the dining table! The door in the dining area leads to a deck with a a small table and sitting area.

You will have a private driveway and access to the entire property. There is a very small garage without an opener that you are welcome to use if you choose.

There is one locked closet near that kitchen, but otherwise you have access to the entire space inside. We do store some supplies in the closet/storage area back behind the bed in the loft bedroom.

Whispering Pines Hideway is in a rural subdivision near the base of Hatcher Pass. You`ll find winding streets, modest homes, and lots are one to five acres in size, so there is plenty of space and privacy but you also might see the neighbors out in their yard. The cabin is located right between Palmer and Wasilla, so both towns are very accessible. Palmer has great breweries, restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques.

Here are some distances, to give you an idea:

7.9 miles to downtown Palmer (14 minutes)
6.4 miles to Wasilla (12 minutes)
41 miles to Anchorage (44 minutes)

A car will be required to get around.

The home is up a driveway with a big hill, so occasionally in the winter time, depending on the state of the roads at the moment, AWD or 4WD will be required to get up the hill. The driveway will be plowed within 24 hours of snowfall over 3`.

AWD will not be necessary in the summer.

The house is on a well and septic tank, so please don`t flush anything but toilet paper down the toilets.

For the protection and safety of the home owners & guests, this home is equipped with outdoor security cameras that take active video and audio recordings on the in the driveway and exterior of the house.
• Please keep overnight guest numbers the same as your reservation and let us know if plans change.
• Please keep noise low between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM outdoors.
• Parties, events, and large gatherings are not allowed.
• Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside the home. Please dispose of cigarette butts properly and keep exterior door closed while smoking so smoke doesn’t enter the home.
• Pets are not allowed.
• Please treat the home with care and report any damage or maintenance needs.
• Please do not unplug or disable safety equipment, including smoke & carbon monoxide detectors.
