FALL ON CAYUGA LAKE
Watch the leaves turn over the ravine from the elevated deck, then walk down the road to the lake and a glass at Sheldrake Point Winery. The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail and local cideries are minutes away, and Taughannock Falls (about 15 minutes) is at its best when the gorge is lined with color. Back home, light the fire pit and watch for deer and foxes in the meadow across the road.

Winter is the cottage at its coziest. Hike Taughannock Falls in the quiet season, browse the shops in Trumansburg (about 15 minutes), or spend the day in Ithaca (about 30 minutes). Then settle into the sectional with a book from the loft library, put on a movie, or start a puzzle. Fast Wi-Fi and a real desk make it an easy place to work midweek, too.
