« Very quiet and private. I enjoyed waking to the birds calling throughout the jungle. The absolute mirror image of the large heron fishing at the waters edge and the groups of parrots flying over were a wonderful sight! Maya Cala was a special find for my family get away! « Fantastic and quiet! Be aware, the road to the house is full of potholes. DONT LET THAT DETER YOU! The seclusion and peace and quiet are worth the drive. There is a resident iguana, outside the front door. I named her Dolores (no idea why) but she was never an issue. There are house geckos, but again they were never an issue. « Buyer beware. The VRBO listing makes it seem you are booking a private home with 4 rooms and dock access to the lake. It's a gorgeous location, yes, BUT... what they don't tell you is they treat this place like a hotel. Each room can be reserved independently and has it's own lock and key.
