« Very quiet and private. I enjoyed waking to the birds calling throughout the jungle. The absolute mirror image of the large heron fishing at the waters edge and the groups of parrots flying over were a wonderful sight! Maya Cala was a special find for my family get away! « Our initial few days were great. The house has many great places to take in and enjoy the beautiful lagoon. Our kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and using the paddleboards and kayaks. « This house was booked last minute for an improptu women's holiday because it was available and allowed a pet. The view of the lake is beautiful, but you can't get in and out to swim here. Many things were in disrepair like doors, windows, and screens. Linens, towels, water, toilet paper was not ready for us and had to be asked for and was stained and worn. « Fantastic and quiet! Be aware, the road to the house is full of potholes. DONT LET THAT DETER YOU! The seclusion and peace and quiet are worth the drive. There is a resident iguana, outside the front door. I named her Dolores (no idea why) but she was never an issue. There are house geckos, but again they were never an issue. « Casona Palms is a beautiful well appointed home in a special place. The hosts have put plenty of thought and care into their guests experience. From the moment I was in touch with Julie, the host, prior to completing the booking she very easy to communicate with.Julie went above and beyond during our stay. It's a gorgeous location, yes, BUT... what they don't tell you is they treat this place like a hotel. Each room can be reserved independently and has it's own lock and key.
