« This was our first visit to Bacalar, it is trully an amazing place. If you are looking for a secluded lakefront property where you can feel like you are part of nature, this is the place. We spent 4 days in Sally´s house and it was an incredible experience, although being in a gated community it feels like you are totally by yourself and we never saw anyone else in the lagoon during our vacation. « This house was booked last minute for an improptu women's holiday because it was available and allowed a pet. The view of the lake is beautiful, but you can't get in and out to swim here. Many things were in disrepair like doors, windows, and screens. Linens, towels, water, toilet paper was not ready for us and had to be asked for and was stained and worn. « Our stay at Casa Xchel in Calderitas was wonderful! The house has a modern feel but is fully stocked with thoughtful amenities—everything from a blow dryer and hairbrush to shampoo, conditioner, body wash, robes, towels (including pool towels), an iron and ironing board, washer and dryer with detergent, and even a speaker for music.
