Modern guest house from 2026 located about 70 meters from the Oslo fjord, offering a beautiful view in a very quiet and rural area. Features a comfortable continental double bed, a private bathroom, air conditioning, blackout pleated blinds, a large terrace with a BBQ grill, and a beach just a few meters from the guest house.

Here you can sit on the terrace and look out over the fjord in complete tranquility. More boats than cars pass by, and you might see people strolling along the sea trail. Built in 2026, the guesthouse features triple‑insulated windows and 30 cm thick walls.

The guesthouse consists of a single 23 square metres living space with a sofa, workbench, pull‑out work desk desk, bar counter for two, and a large continental bed. The private 2 square metres bathroom includes a shower, sink, and toilet.

Outside, there is a large terrace, and starting from May 2026, an additional afternoon terrace offering evening sunset.

The guesthouse has no kitchen, but you may borrow portable induction cooktops and an air fryer. It includes a refrigerator, kettle, and coffee machine. Several USB‑C, USB‑A, and international power outlets are also available. From May to September, two bicycles are available for guests.

The guesthouse is located in a roughly 1.2‑acre garden belonging to a private home occupied by an adult couple. The area features scattered cottages and residential homes, with very minimal car traffic.

The property includes access to a small shared private beach for local residents just a few meters away, and another beach is located about 300 meters from the house. A couple more beaches are within a 5–10 minute walk.

Both the Pilgrims’ Route and the Coastal Path pass directly by the property.

A Rema 1000 supermarket with long opening hours and a small café serving Norwegian and Chinese food are located by the main road, 700 meters from the house.

Across the strait you can see Jeløya. Son Spa hotel, Skutebaugen, Sonsstranda, and Son Culture Church are 3 kilometers further north, and after another kilometer, you reach charming Son town center with narrow streets, museums, small shops, and plenty of restaurants. In summer, the coastal boat to Drøbak and Oslo departs from the square in Son.

The area also offers excellent hiking terrain, a tennis court, golf course, football fields, swimming pool, cross-country ski trail, and a tiny ski slope. On sufficiently cold winter days, you can skate on the strait just outside the house, visit some of the small forest ponds, or go to Vansjø, widely known as a fantastic skating paradise in winter and perfect for canoeing in summer.

The nearest bus stop is by Rema 1000, and the nearest train station is Kambo. Traveling by train from Oslo, Sonsveien Station is almost half the price compared to Kambo, although slightly farther away.

A bus runs from there if you have patience for all the stops. If we are home, pickup at the train station can be arranged.

The nearest town for shopping is Moss, about a 10‑minute drive away.

Guests with mobility challenges are warmly welcome to contact us in advance to confirm suitability. The entrance door is nearly 1 meter wide, but a wheelchair may still be impractical, so discussing needs and options beforehand is recommended.
