Long post....I booked this property a month in advance for our Disney vacation, and the property owner was very responsive and communicated with me prior to my arrival and while my family and I were en route to the rental. Once we arrived, we discovered that the door code that was provided to us was incorrect and we couldn't access the unit. I texted the property owner three times and left two voice messages, but suddenly she was nonresponsive. I spent an hour trying the door code and trying to reach the owner, and then an additional three hours on the phone with Vrbo trying to sort through this fiasco. After traveling seven hours to reach this destination, we were filled with fear that we would be sleeping in our car for the night! Vrbo was very responsive, and after failing to reach the property owner themselves, Vrbo declared us as stranded travelers and processed a claim to refund us for the rental. Vrbo instructed us to find a hotel for the night, and assured us they would reimburse us for the cost. Fortunately, Vrbo also found us a replacement rental that we could check into the following day. Now... After we were asleep in the hotel, the missing property owner called AND texted me at 2am - seven hours after my texts and calls to her - wanting us to "proceed to the rental." 🤯 Apparently, the maid had changed the door code... Since we were finally settled in our hotel for the night, it was my turn to ignore calls and texts! I contacted Vrbo again in the morning, and they advised me that a claim had already been processed for the refund on the first rental, and that we needed to proceed to check into the new rental instead. Vrbo saved our vacation!
I waited almost a month after this ordeal to post this review, because I was really angry and didn't want to be negative towards the property owner. I am sure that the original property would have been nice, but I can't get past the fact that the owner just disappeared and left us high and dry. This experience left me and my family extremely stressed and frustrated. If you decide to book this unit, please be sure to do so through Vrbo or a similar a service so you will be protected should anything go wrong.
