This 6-bedroom, 6-bath house in Sonoma Resort spreads 3,451 square feet over two floors and sleeps 16, so three generations can travel together and still keep their own routine: all six bedrooms have a private bathroom and a TV, and nobody queues in the morning. Two rooms are themed, and the children usually choose before the suitcases are open. One carries a Harry Potter design, with Marauder's Map wallpaper, a backlit Hogwarts Express above the beds and a wall of spellbook shelves. Sonoma Resort is a residential vacation community on Calistoga Avenue in Kissimmee, in the corridor that leads to the Orlando theme parks, with the clubhouse and community pool at its center. The house sits on one of the lake lots at the back of the community, so the view from the pool deck is water and trees instead of a neighbor's wall, and the street itself stays quiet. Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and the Kissimmee restaurants and shops are all a short drive away.
A car is the practical way to move between the parks, and parking is free on the paver driveway in front of the house, with room for more than one vehicle. Street parking overnight is not allowed inside the community, so plan to keep the cars on the driveway. Rideshare services and car rental companies operate throughout the Kissimmee and Orlando area for guests who prefer not to drive, and the theme parks, outlets and supermarkets are all reached by car from the resort entrance.
