Built with original redwood lumber, the home retains its authentic vintage farmhouse character while offering the modern comforts you need for a relaxing getaway. Step outside and take in the peaceful rural setting, where a pond on the east side of the property regularly attracts ducks and geese, and elk can often be spotted grazing across the surrounding fields and pastures.
When you re not soaking up the scenery, there s plenty to keep everyone entertained. The converted garage game room features Ping-Pong, a small air hockey table, cornhole, ladder toss, and a collection of board games. Outdoors, a grill and picnic table make an inviting spot for warm-weather meals surrounded by the ranch landscape.

Inside, settle in beside the wood stove or electric fireplace and unwind with a movie on the smart TV. The full kitchen is equipped for preparing home-cooked meals, while free WiFi and a private washer and dryer add everyday convenience.

Some of Northern California s most spectacular scenery is within easy reach. Spend your days wandering among ancient redwoods, hiking fern-lined trails, watching Roosevelt elk, or exploring the rugged Pacific coastline.

Redwood National and State Parks Explore a remarkable landscape of towering old-growth redwoods, open prairies, rivers, wildlife, and miles of wild coastline. The park system offers more than 200 miles of trails through redwood forests, prairies, and beaches.
Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park One of the jewels of the redwood parks, with magnificent old-growth forest, scenic Newton B. Drury Parkway, miles of hiking trails, and excellent opportunities to see Roosevelt elk.

Fern Canyon Follow a creek through a lush canyon where steep walls are draped in ferns. This unforgettable hike involves stream crossings, so expect to get your feet wet. Seasonal parking reservations are required for vehicle access from May 15 through September 15.
Trillium Falls Trail A beautiful hike through old-growth redwoods, maples, ferns, and towering firs to a small forest waterfall. The falls are just a half-mile from the trailhead, or continue along the full loop for a longer redwood hike. Elk are also frequently seen around the nearby Elk Meadow area.

Beaches the Pacific Coast The redwoods meet the sea along this extraordinary stretch of the North Coast. Spend an afternoon beachcombing, watching waves roll in, or exploring scenic coastal overlooks. Nearby options include Gold Bluffs Beach, which can be combined with a visit to Fern Canyon, as well as beaches around Orick and Trinidad.

This home is located on a working cattle ranch. Guests may encounter cattle, ranch vehicles, equipment, livestock activity, and the sights and sounds that come with everyday ranch life.

Wildlife is part of the experience. Elk, deer, geese, ducks, and other wildlife may be seen around the property. Please enjoy them from a safe and respectful distance.

The farmhouse is a vintage 1940s home constructed with original redwood lumber. Its age and character are part of its charm, and guests should expect the quirks and characteristics that come with a historic rural home.

The pond and surrounding ranch property are natural, unfenced areas. Children should be supervised outdoors.
Cell service can be limited in rural areas and throughout Redwood National and State Parks. Download maps and directions before heading out for the day.

Access to Fern Canyon and Gold Bluffs Beach has seasonal requirements and vehicle restrictions. Guests planning a visit should check current park conditions and reservation requirements before departing.

Streaming services are available using guests own accounts. We provide blazing fast Starlink internet. Please note, that being a rural area, if utilities and power go down, certain systems can go offline. We do have a back up generator. If you depend on internet for work or other specific needs we recommend bringing a back up hot spot just in case.
