« We stayed at Cabanas Tropicales before and after our overnight stay in Corcovado. The owner and manager were both very kind and very helpful. We were able to leave our luggage here while we were trekking in the park.
The location is great. Close to the beach and good restaurants and only a short walk to town.
The room is basic with air con and a fan and they offer hot water in the shower if you want it. Simple kitchen to use if you need with free coffee and tea.

« DO NOT STAY HERE. I paid for the room through Expedia, and then the hotel owner insisted that I had to pay again. To repeat, I paid *twice* for this room. Expedia customer service promised to refund me for the second purchase, but then failed to do so after the fact. This is a scam. The room had cockroaches. The door wouldn't lock properly. Seriously, avoid at all costs!!! »

« There are vacations, and then there are vacations. This place is about as unique as they come. A few things to be aware of. First the drive from the Airport is a 7 hour drive. Be prepared for that. Once you arrive to the climb in the mountains, it can be rough. Be sure to rent the right vehicle for that. It can be a challenge to find it in the dark. Once there, itâs an absolute paradise. « This resort provides an authentic "forest" experience while at the same time making sure all one's needs are taken care of. Dining is surprisingly good (my husband is a gourmet chef so he should know) as is the service! We couldn't ask for more but got it thanks to the friendliness of the owners. They are ever present and offer great advice (as well as conversation) for a fulfilling experience.
We were sincerely sad to leave and hope to return in the future... »
