We booked this unit last minute, and despite a late check-in time of 4:00 PM, the property was completely unprepared for guests. While we understand a short booking window, the "management" provided by Vacasa was nonexistent.Upon arrival, we discovered that the water to the entire unit was turned off. Once we managed to get water running, we realized the breakers for the hot water tank and several other essential items were also shut off. To make matters worse, the "Welcome Book" provided by the unit contained incorrect information regarding the location of the circuit breakers. We eventually found them hidden behind a heavy hanging mirror that was a nightmare to remove and even harder to put back on. The fireplace was also not working, come to find out it had been turned off from inside the unit. Once we switched it on, we found out the battery to the remote was missing. We actually had to go out and purchase our own 9V battery just to use a basic amenity. Another amenity that did not work was the jets in the tub. Because of the ordeal with the hidden breaker panel, I didn't even bother checking if that breaker was off. I wasn't willing to risk wrestling with that mirror again. The most disappointing part of this experience is the lack of accountability. What are the high management fees for if not to ensure a property is habitable and "guest-ready" before check-in?Vacasa failed significantly here. We spent our first evening troubleshooting utilities instead of relaxing.
