Lakefront Villa, in its own 5 acre parc at the lake, private sandy beach

La Gioiosa is a dream estate, situated directly on the waterfront of Lago di Mezzola, the northern part of Lake Como. It is surrounded by a 5 acre fenced private parc, with old trees, palms and lovely flowers in a natural reserve. It has its own private sandy beach, a harbour and is ideal for families who like to engage in all kinds of water sports as well as relaxation in complete privacy. The famous Engadin, home of St. Moritz and the like is close by, so the villa can be used for skiing and wintersports of all kind during the cold season. Children can`t get lost in the park, as it can be completely closed.

Art, culture and nature : There are quite a few museums in the area, dealing with silk, for which Como is famous, motorcycles (the Moto Guzzi plant is nearby) and of course art and history.
Around the lakes you find many botanical gardens, very often with lovely villas. Most of them can be visited and already in early spring (Feb/March) you can see the Camellia blossoms, a little bit later (March till May) you can admire huge Rhododendrons and azaleas. The temperature highs are already mild around this time of the year, you can find daytime highs of about 20 °C in March. And most important: the sun is frequently shining and gives a pleasant atmosphere.

Shopping: You will find the typical italian markets everywhere in the area as well as the typical small italian boutiques and stores, filled with unique fashion finds and fine foods, lovely to browse and to shop. In addition, you have some of the finest designer outlets in italian fashion and design close by: Armani, Alessi, Cerutti, Banfi, Brunate etc. Como is the center of italian silk industry, so you can easily find hot deals in ties, scarves, silk fabrics and accessories.
In about 10 km distance, there is a mall with an enormous supermarket, where you can find virtually everything you might possibly need.
