The hotel was lovely, and we were put into one of the lodges which was excellent, although we would have had to crossed the car park to get to the pool. As in the current COVID climate this would have had to have been in a swimming costume and robe we didn't use the pool at all.
The service was rather poor on a few counts, which hopefully is more due to the COVID situation and not a reflection on how things usually work, but it did mar the stay rather. Twice at breakfast we felt that we were rather invisible, and ended up leaving the table on the first day giving up asking for toast, and then getting up to find a member of staff on the second day, as having asked for more coffee it didn't arrive. The pillows in the room were very lumpy, so we asked for softer ones, which never came, so we ended up going to Dunelm and buying our own!!!!
