« Visiting Clarkes is like stepping back in time. The architecture of the building makes such a refreshing change from the modern hotels of concrete, glass and over the top air conditioning. Our room was lovely and was beautifully furnished and the public areas of the hotel were also thoughtfully presented. Although some people might find it a little formal, the staff were friendly and polite without exception. We would stay there again without hesitation. »

« Three night stay but I wish it had been longer. The property is full of character and immaculately furnished. Our room was incredibly spacious and the view from the terrace was magnificent, watching the sunset was a joy. However, the best thing of all was the service received. The entire team were wonderful. The meals were absolutely delicious (both breakfast and dinner were exquisite) and the servings very generous. Located a five minute walk from the main road, so quiet but easily accessible...

« Nous sommes très satisfaits de notre séjour. Le personnel était au petits soins!! L'hôtel propose un service de navette gratuite pour se rendre dans le centre ville, sinon il faut descendre des escaliers à pic pour y parvenir!!! Les chambres sont très confortables, propres, une bonne literie, une salle de bain avec une belle douche et de l'eau chaude!!! « The view was great. The description of the hotel is wrong. Access is only for backpackers. Wheelchair is a joke. Taxis are not allowed closer than 200 m and from there it is steap up. In winter you even cannot be sure of that. We had to go approx. 1km on a slippery road. Taxis did not dare go there. The hotel is not suitabel for use in low temp. We had reserved 2 nights but left after 1 night. - still cold as ice. »

« The Hotel has become quite old. There were water droplets on walls due to moisture. They dont provide stool to sit while bathing. which is must for elders. The AC is centralized but time to time it is not effective in cooling. only plus points are big room, hotel is in the main market. all ghats are within walking distance. so recommending this hotel to all »
