John's house is in such a great location - beautiful mountain views, peaceful and secluded, yet less than 3 miles from the town of Patagonia. The house was just the right size, comfortable, nicely furnished with pretty much everything you'd need, including a well equipped kitchen. Cindy came by to show us all the important details about the house and property, and though we didn't require her assistance while we were there, it was good to know she was just down the road and a phone call away if needed. The early April mornings were beautiful - watching and listening to the birds, especially the very lively black-chinned and broad-billed hummingbirds (and rambunctious Gila Woodpeckers). We had a couple of welcome thunderstorms while we were there, and it was much greener than when we were in Patagonia slightly earlier last year. The night sky was expansive with many stars, once the full moon had waned. There's plenty to do nearby if you're interested in outdoor recreation (e.g. hiking, bird watching and cycling). I did a couple of half-day gravel bike rentals at Patagonia Bikes - very friendly accommodating owner and staff and excellent bikes. We went on an informative guided bird walk at Patagonia Lake State Park (free, though you still have to pay the regular state park entry fee). Some of our favorite places in town were Gathering Grounds and Quail Covey cafes, Queen of Cups winery and Patagonia Lumber Company, and Pronghorn Pizza at Dos Cabezas winery in Sonoita
