Bubanj is a striking memorial in the town of NiĆĄ, in Serbia. The hill was the setting for the execution of more than 10,000 people from NiĆĄ. The Germans had a concentration camp near by and brought the prisoners here to be shot during World War II. Trenches were dug to hide the bodies, but they were later dug up and burnt to hide any evidence of the killings.
You can catch a bus (#4) here, but I recommend a taxi.
