    We’re Don and Tammy Murphy, your hosts. In 2021, we fell in love with this charming (run down) property and began a four-year renovation journey to restore the original 1947 home and transform the surrounding wooded acreage into a scenic, sunset-filled escape.

    It’s been a true labor of love, and we were thrilled to begin welcoming guests in May 2025. We’ve poured our hearts into every detail to create a peaceful, cozy, and well-appointed getaway for families, couples, and friends alike.

    We hope you enjoy the tranquility, natural beauty, and thoughtful touches throughout the home, and that your stay here becomes one to remember.

We traveled with our two children and their families for the Army - USF football game. There was plenty of room for the 6 adults and 4 children. The grandchildren really enjoyed the kayaks, paddle board, and paddle boat. We also enjoyed the gas grill, fire pit, and gazebo by the lake. The house was well equipped and I would recommend checking it out before you go shopping as we bought things we didn’t need because they were provided. We don’t travel to this area very often but there’s no doubt where we would choose to stay in the future.

Lovely property on a beautiful lake. Host was friendly and easily contactable. Stayed here for the weekend with our gal pals and Don was such a great A host. Comfortable vibe to relax and enjoy the nature around yourself while you watch one of the most breathtaking sunsets of your life.

This was one of the best VRBO stays I've ever had. Don was extremely responsive and flexible. The house was hands-down the cleanest inside that I've ever rented. The beds were very comfortable and the house size and layout were great for our group. We would love to book again.

Overall a very positive experience. The property matched the description quite well. We truly enjoyed sitting near lake watching wildlife. My daughter paddle boarded two mornings around the entire lake. Loved seeing the beaver dam and all the birds. Really liked the feeling of being out in the country, but also appreciated being close enough to everything if we wanted. Thanks for the stay!

Communication with the host was seamless. Check in and out smooth. Property exactly as described. Clean and nicely decorated. I’m sure it would have been a great place to hang outside but our weather didn’t cooperate. Nice location for a stay during West Point graduation.

Place was well up to date with an excellent kitchen, living room, and dinning room. The fridge was not clean and smelled of old fish. We had to clean it out and buy new baking soda for it. The septic was also backed up so spending time outside was a struggle with smell. Over it was good and we enjoyed to moments by the lake.

Overall a great weekend! The house was great and Don communicated very clearly and made sure we had what we needed. Only note for future folks is that Google Maps directs you past the driveway to the path down to the water, keep an eye out when you are close to make sure you turn at the right spot.
