This Breathtaking Waterfront Beach House (built in 1955) gives you the true New England experience, with Ocean Beach Park just steps away! The home is a single level ranch design w/ garage. Our fully furnished 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom house, newly renovated in (2020/2021), allows a group of 12 relatives to live comfortably and lavishly! SLEEPS 12 IN BEDS! Maximum 12 occupancy!
Monthly/Weekly/Daily Renters, Essential Workers, Families/Vacationers, Connecticut College, Mitchell College, Coast Guard Academy, Electric Boat, Dominion Energy, Mohegan Sun & Foxwoods Casinos. Family, friend, work, team, bachelor, bachelorette, golf, etc. gatherings are all welcomed.
Beach passes ARE NOT included with booking; can be purchased at Ocean Beach Park admission booth(s). Public commercial olympic sized pool located at Ocean Beach Park (pool passes ARE NOT included w/ booking; can be purchased at park). Unfortunately dogs (pets) are not allowed inside Ocean Beach Park.
Ocean Beach Park is down the street from the home, open Memorial Day to Labor Day. It is less than a 5 minute walk to your right once you step out the front door of the home. The admission booth is located on the boardwalk once passed through the vehicle entrance gate. Guests are able to utilize Alewife Cove for water activities such as kayaks, canoes, or paddle boards (all NOT included). Guests are expected to comply with the CT water safety guidelines/requirements. Unfortunatly, the property docks (on back yard retaining wall) are off limits and not accessible for guest usage. There is a water access area 2 blocks away where you can access the water on Parkway Drive (Waterford, CT). It is a very short walk across the bridge (to the right) that brings you to the water access area. Besides water activities, the immediate area is a great place for walking, jogging, or bike riding.

Great beach location
Very well equipped house for our small family vacation. Peaceful, quiet setting with great beach access. The beach amenities were excellent: playground, pool, splash pad, arcade, kids Ferris wheel and merry-go-round. Plenty of towels, blankets, kitchen equipment. The deck and patio were great for eating and relaxing. Very pleased with stay.

I wish we could say that we enjoyed this stay, but the house was quite sterile. There were no supplies, not even trash bags or cooking utensils. It felt as though you were breathing in mildew. I had higher expectations for this property and unfortunately was let down.

Quiet and Relaxing
This was an off-season rental and we were looking for a quiet spot, convenient to restaurants and other amenities, on the water. This property fit the bill perfectly. The house was as advertised, could comfortably accommodate more than the three of us, and the ducks and geese on Alewife Cove provided all the entertainment we needed! Special shout out for the owner/manager. Communication was super timely and helpful!

We will definitely come back
House is in the best location, a mile from Ocean Beach Park, full of privacy with great view. We had very good time and we will definitely come back. It was clean and as described.
Minor things needs to be looked at is the AC which is not very powerful but it's not the end of the world and the fact that there is no hood above the range make the house smoky if you want to cook something because you can't open any window.
Overall, we are very happy for staying here!!!

Quick getaway
This has been by far one of our best little get aways that we've had! Beautiful spacious, clean home. There were plenty of towels, blankets, and kitchen items. I could've spent the entire day sitting in the living area appreciating the peaceful views. From watching the sun rise and set to looking at the moon light glistening on the water, It was such a relaxing time with no worries! Thank you Utopia for adding another one of your amazing homes to our list! Can't wait to come back when the weather is warmer!

Great view, clean, private, relaxing, spacious, quiet and great location. We had a great weekend getaway, walking at the beach, relaxing in the salt cave in Niantic, a trip to the Foxwoods and a show at the Garde Arts Center. Plenty of great restaurants around. Nick was very prompt replying to my questions and was a gracious host. My 86 yr old Mom enjoyed her stay. It's one level living and that made it easy for her. I took the west wing and she took the east wing of the house, LOL. Thank you Nick!

We had a great stay! The home was spacious and full of light.. the location was so close to two beaches that we visited during our stay. The beaches are absolutely wonderful. We brought our inflatable kayaks and took a quick walk around the corner to kayak right on the water outside of the home. There were lots of extra linens which came in handy for my large family. The large shower was GREAT to have all 4 of my little ones take quick after beach showers in. We were also surprised to see there were beach umbrellas and a wagon (though we didn't need them since we brought our own wagon) they are a great detail for families with children who may need them. Kitchen was fully stocked with items that we needed, but I will mention maybe adding an exhaust fan above the stove for cooking purposes. We had no issues keeping the place cooled down with the thermostat at 70 and keeping the curtains closed when it was super sunny. The area was quiet and peaceful, if you have small children who wake to morning light there are no curtains, just blinds in the bedrooms. We hung a blanket over the windows of the room ours slept in. Overall I would definitely book again!! We loved our stay and the only big downfall was having to leave !

Not a well managed property
As someone who has three vacation rentals, I was shocked by the quality of this property. We had 4 guests booked, so they only provided 4 blankets. Luckily, my husband was in a car accident and couldn't join us, as my mother was cold and needed two blankets. There were no washcloths or hand towels. Even though it saya it sleeps 12, there were only two coffee cups and no wine glasses. There is zero curb appeal to the property, and kinda influences you not to want to enter. The backyard has a nice view but renters cannot use the dock (we allow this at our rental in Oregon). Access to the water is fenced off and you have to leave the property and walk across the bridge to the other side of the river if you want to access the water. You can't open windows, the doors had no screens, very difficult to get fresh air. Other than being clean, very disappointing. We actually left and stayed at the casino. After paying a lot of money to stay here.

Sorry, this place needs work. The location is good, and the staff is sort of responsive.The AC / Air Conditioning does not work properly. I asked in advance of booking and was told the house will keep the temp at 70 if you close the shades. Nope, not even close. They sent a tech to the house who did some basic maintenance, but didn't fix anything. Slightly improved l, but I'm not convinced that wasn't due to the heat dropping a little. They followed up to see how things were after they sent a tech, and when I told them they still have an issue... Crickets. Next, the windows don't open - which I can accept, but when the there is no hood over range and the fire detector is directly above the stove, you will set it off when cooking.They have two tubs, neither usable. One won't stop water, an issue for bathing a small child. Didn't report it as I didn't get help in the AC. They comment about bugs... Well when you can visibly see light through around at least one doors, you can understand why they have bugs. They claim they have fans. They have useless ceiling fans in-between beds and one old stand fan that doesn't work properly. It can't oscillate, or keep straight unless you twist it until the fan can't move any more. Next, don't cheap out, get a season pass or two to the ocean beach park. It's common for this type of amenity with other rentals.I've never had a poor rental experience like this.Please improve and maintain properly.Good luck.

Beach time-Cousin fun!
My sister’s family and mine had a beautiful stay. I highly recommend this house. The one and only downfall, was we rented during a heat wave and their AC could not keep up. The living area got to 84degrees in the afternoon, and my guests could not tolerate it. Extremely hot and uncomfortable from about 3pm-9pm. Would recommend owners to update AC unit to accommodate heat in the summer months.

Great 6 night getaway!
We truly enjoyed our end-of-June stay at the house on Alewife Cove.
There was an issue the moment we arrived; the property manager resolved it quickly, fairly, and professionally.
The house is very comfortable with two nice outdoor spaces, a rear porch and a rear patio. We spent many hours enjoying the mild temps and low humidity.
The house overlooks Alewife Cove, which feeds out to the ocean. It was fun to watch the tide come and go; we saw egrets, ducks, geese, striped bass, crabs, and even a groundhog.
Beautiful sunsets in late June colored the sky red, orange, and pink. The late afternoon sun pours through the large picture windows in the living room; this heated the room to almost 80 degrees one day. I recommend the management team put up curtains or blinds, it would probably help with your energy bill since the AC had to run constantly during the late afternoon.
The kitchen had a great selection of pots and pans. The dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, and toaster are all of recent vintage. The lack of an exhaust fan over the cooktop was an issue one morning when frying bacon briefly set off the smoke alarm.
We brought a small charcoal grill and enjoyed some epic meals. If you drink wine or cocktails bring some of your own glassware since the selection is very limited at the house.
Two of the bedrooms are quite roomy, even with two queen beds. The third bedroom off the kitchen is smaller but functional.
Both bathrooms were top notch; good lighting, instant hot water, nice shower heads. Plenty of towels, linens, etc.
The washer and dryer in the basement were easy to use and worked well.
The house is well-situated for people visiting Ocean Beach Park. The sandy beach was quite nice on the Wednesday we visited and not too busy. While you can walk to the park in a matter of a few minutes, you may want to consider driving because the pricing structure is strange- flat $25 fee for parking and admission, no matter how many people in your vehicle. If you enter at the pedestrian gate, it is $10 per person.
Day trips to Watch Hill, Newport, Mystic, Block Island etc were fun!
Get "hot lobs" at Abbott's in Noank. Recovery Room down the street is affordable and good. This house is a beautiful base to explore a gorgeous part of New England.

Amazing home and view
We rented for our sons graduation from The Coast Guard Academy. The property was close to school and all of his fellow cadets had rented homes in the area. Because if the view and the privacy our home seemed to be the busiest. What a wonderful stay we had and would recommend this home to anyone who wants to be in the New London area. Waking up
To the expansive water view was a treat not to mention a short walk to the beach. We wish we were there longer! Home was clean and stocked with everything you could need!

Very good place!
This house and location were great for our family. It was a great house to just ‘hang out’ in - the large bay window overlooking the cove never lost its appeal as there were always great birds and boaters to watch. The deck with table was perfect for coffee in the morning. The house seemed larger in person than in the listing and the open kitchen/tv room/dining room layout was great. One bedroom is noticeably less ideal than the other 2, but it was fine.
It would have been helpful to have an ‘area guide’ with notes from the locals (like the difference in cost/logistics between driving vs walking to the beach, what restaurants to check out for takeout, what restaurants have outdoor seating, closest grocery stores, etc.), but obviously one can make do with the internet.
Being one block from the beach was really perfect. We were only there during the week, so it wasn’t crowded at all and we had a lovely visit.
We would definitely stay at this property again. Thanks for a nice visit!

20th anniversary celebration
The rental process was seamless. I was able to be in constant communication online with the rental office. If I can make it, it would be easier to reach someone via telephone especially during off hours.

Nice Beach House
We had a overall good experience with this Beach house. The rooms, bathrooms and kitchen were clean, and the kitchen has a good range of Appliances. We enjoyed the view provided by the large windows & patio.

House is nice. Big bedrooms and a nice outdoor area as well as a large open living space for everyone to enjoy. Lake is pretty and beach is very close so you can walk there any time.

Tranquility at its' Best
This home was a wonderful refuge for us. It is tucked away on a private side street. It was very clean. No worries with a 9 month old crawling around. The views of the water were just wonderful. Lots of different birds to watch and identify. The view was the best part for us to wind down and recharge ourselves. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. It was very quiet. The bathrooms are gorgeous and new. The kitchen has plenty of counter space. If you plan on doing a lot of cooking for a large family you may find the pots and pan inventory a little limiting. Management was very responsive and took care of a minor issue immediately. We look forward to staying here again.

5 STAR RENTAL & HOSPITALITY!
The home and view are absolutely spectacular! The nicest and cleanest rental property I have ever been to! The bathrooms are huge and amazing! The home was fully stocked with towels, shampoos, body soaps, AND fresh linens. The new kitchen was beautiful with the marble countertops. So stylish! There was plenty of new silverware utensils, new cooking items, and new baking sheets to serve a feast. I loved sitting in the coffee nook area, enjoying the sunsets on the river and watching the wildlife. Especially the ducks fishing for food. There were even swans too! Wifi worked very fast throughout the entire house. Very helpful and responsive hosts. Would definitely come back in the summer to enjoy the beach at Ocean Beach Park and even visit Mystic, which is only a 10 minute drive away! 5 star home and hospitality!!!
