Bienvenue au Château Royale! Un bâtiment entièrement rénové au coeur du centre-ville surplombant le Bayou Teche. Le Château Bayou est situé à côté du Château Royale. Nous devions regarder chaque jour ce bâtiment vide et délabré. Notre objectif était d’acheter et de transformer cet espace en une location élégante pour le plaisir de nos clients. Ce bâtiment a été utilisé comme imprimerie, cabinet de dentiste et laboratoire dentaire, studio d’enregistrement et de pratique, puis est devenu vacant et n’a pas été entretenu pendant des années jusqu’à notre arrivée. Cet établissement surplombe le Bayou Teche et se trouve à côté du Bouligny Plaza, siège du Championnat du monde annuel Gumbo Cook-off et du festival annuel de la canne à sucre. Il se trouve également à quelques minutes à pied du marché des agriculteurs, du festival de food truck, des restaurants à proximité, des boutiques et des discothèques. Apportez votre bateau ou votre kayak pour faire une croisière sur le bayou ou pêcher à même la rive. Le Château Royale comprend une cuisine entièrement en acier inoxydable, 2 lits queen-size, 2 lits jumeaux, 2 bains à remous, une télévision par câble, une connexion Wi-Fi gratuite, un sèche-cheveux, un café et bien plus encore. Les animaux sont toujours les bienvenus.

Wonderful place! My two boys loved fishing right on the bayou. The home was very clean, decor was so fun and location was prime! Very cute little town, we explored and shopped. We will be back! Hosts are so friendly and attentive!

Outstanding hosts & beautiful home. They were very accommodating and flexible. We came in for a funeral for a family member, and when we made our original booking, we made it for the wrong week/dates, which was no fault of the owners at all completely on us. As we were on our way into town, we realized our mistake and contacted the owners to see if there was any way to amend the booking to allow us into the house that evening and to stay for the week, plus extend our stay for a few extra days. Luckily the house wasn't rented for the week we actually needed and Mickey even prepared the house for us the night we were on our way in, we contacted him after 4pm and the house was ready for us by the time we arrived later that evening.The house itself was wonderful and had a stocked kitchen of the standard things and had an assortment of spices and condiments for us to use. It was decorated with the right amount of flare for Louisiana including decorations for Mardi Gras (we were intown for the holiday). The patio was the highlight of the trip for us as it allowed a place for the small humans to play and run while keeping them close. We had picnic meals outside for breakfast and lunch every day. The loft was a great play place for them with some extra supervision as they are young (4 & 2yrs) and climbing down was problematic for them. Overall, a wonderful place to be given the circumstances of our visit.

Had such a wonderful stay at Chateau Royal! I am from New Iberia, but we have outgrown our family home, so in recent years have needed to find alternative places to stay. This is our new favorite place. It was clean and well stocked. Within walking distance to great restaurants, bars, shopping, City Park. Great view of Bayou Teche from back deck. Plenty of room for family to visit. Mickey made sure we had everything we needed. We needed extra space, and booked Bayou Chateau next door last minute. We hope to stay here again soon!!

If you’re looking for a place to stay in New Iberia, stop searching and book Chateau Royale. Great location, extremely nice and comfortable. Perfect place to spend a few days relaxing! The covered porch is a great place to sit and watch the bayou. Really enjoyed our stay can’t say enough good things about the property and owners!

We had a great stay! The VRBO is located in old downtown New Iberia and walking distance to restaurants, boutiques, parks, and museums. The hosts were amazing and attentive when we needed some assistance with the P4. It was surprisingly quiet being located on a street. I would definitely stay again.

Southern Louisiana Charm

We stayed at Chateau Royale over the Thanksgiving holidays to visit family. It came highly recommended to us from our family nearby. The experience was better than great. The chateau is clean and cleverly Cajun style with a giant back patio overlooking the bayou (not the prettiest water but that’s no fault of the chateau). Next time we go to New Iberia we will first check on Chateau Royale’s availability.

Return after 40 years

My partner and I came by train from Los Angeles. Meanwhile my son and his familydrove from Atlanta. We met there in New Iberia where my son grew up. The location was ideal, the lodgings delightful, and Mickey was a most attentive host. My son was allowed to bring his dog, a 14 year old mix breed and that relieved a lot of stress for the family. We were also delighted with the neighborhood cat who hung out with us. All in all we struck a good balance of visiting old friends, walking along the bayou and Main Street and just relaxing.

Beautiful Place!

We absolutley loved the Chateau Royale! We woke up one morning at 6 am while a thunderstorm was moving thru and we got to sit on the wonderful porch and watch it move thru on the bayou. The owners are amazing! The place is clean and comfortable. Mickey and Tiffany gave us great info on the town. You HAVE to go to Victors! Its amazing food and people there. Also if your there on the weekend the farmers market!! We LOVED this place and will be back!

Wonderful stay in New Iberia

Our family of 5 (two 17 year olds, myself and my husband, and my mother) spent four nights here for our spring break. We could not have been happier with Chateau Royale!! Location: it was awesome to be able to walk to downtown shops and restaurants but being a block off of the main street, it was quiet. We loved sitting on the back deck and watching the Bayou. My husband fished and our kids kayaked in the bayou. We also enjoyed being centrally located between areas that we wanted to visit like Avery Island, St Martinville, Lafayette, etc. Amenities: the rental had everything we needed! They have thought of everything. Having kayaks to use was a great bonus! Hosts: Mickey and Tiffany were fantastic to answer any questions we had and made great restaurant recommendations! And I love the attention to detail that they have put into the Chateau. We could tell they have taken great care to make it a wonderful place to stay. We would not hesitate to recommend Chateau Royale to anyone planning to visit New Iberia or the surrounding areas and we hope to return sometime soon!!

Unbeatable Location

This is a cool and unique place to stay downtown and overlooking Bayou Teche. Walk to restaurants, cook or grill there, and enjoy the large back deck and waterside fire pit. Breakfast at Victor’s was delicious perfectly southern and the chargrilled oysters and sushi from Bojangles was just steps away. We were there 2 weeks with kayaks. Lots of great paddling along the Teche and at Lake Fausse Point. Enjoyed nearby Avery Island and also Rip Van Winkle Gardens. The folks in downtown New Iberia are very welcoming to visitors. Take in the farmers market if you can. This is the 2nd trip to New Iberia- looking forward to another one. Mickey and Tiffany are very gracious hosts and have many great recommendations to share.

Best ever

Second time for a visit. Love the location, the eclectic decor and all the amenities. Great outside deck to sit and watch the bayou float by, walk to restaurants, shops and bars but yet quiet at night. Soft linens, great living area and kitchen, would not stay anywhere else in the bayou country, a true taste of Louisiana.

Absolutely Adorable

I absolutely loved this lil place. The decor was adorable and I might’ve taken some pics of the interior for future reference in my new house. The location is great. The owners were very sweet and worked with us on needing an extra day. They own the lil place next to it as well and it’s so cute!! I highly recommend staying here.
