No wifi in the room as it was down for the duration of my stay. Staff are friendly and arranged taxis swiftly even at the odd hours.

Great people BUT WORST services

Publié le 7 janv. 2016 sur Hotels
My 1st time to JA.Stayed Dec 24th-Jan 5th.Paid $115 per night, stayed 13nights.Outlined the ongoing issues @ this hotel,I've done my researches both via online & in person. Issues:: 1)No Wifi in Room 2 which is where we stayed, repeatedly being told it's been fixed.Jennifer @ front desk claimed she didn't know that we have wifi issues until day of leaving when I gave my detailed feedback. 2)NO HOT WATER FOR THE 1ST 3DAYS OF OUR STAYED, repeatedly being told that has been fixed too until 4th day. 3) LINT ON ALL THE WHITE TOWELS! They are using VERY CHEAP TOWELS,when complained to front desk woman(Jennifer),she mentioned they must be "new towels"seriously we stayed there 13nights and they're new from day 1 to 13! 4) Don't believe all that's visible via online about the beach! You CANNOT SWIM OR ENTER THE WATER THERE.IT IS TOO ROUGH.We had to swim at Eldreds,Margaritavill.5) Not much going on at this hotel for entertainment.Bonfire few nights. 6) Cable-it has been ongoing during out stay.no consistency. Good things about this hotel: 1)Very polite staff and very respectful.2)The maintenance gentleman by name of Natty is the BEST PERSON ANYONE COULD NOT FORGOT! Manager Keith promised to move us into another room due to all the inconveniences but that never happened!! His promises were made under the influence of alcohol hence why they were NEVER FULFILLED! All issues were brought to Keith & Jennifer atten yet the outcome of our stay was never adjusted to accommodate our money!

Amazing Place

Publié le 2 mai 2015 sur Hotels
This was a beautiful, serene place to stay. It was off the beaten path, but we easily arranged a shuttle to town. The ocean view was gorgeous, and the staff were wonderful - particularly Santoni. The room was great, and it was incredible to have our own terrace with an ocean view. There was no question about the commitment to customer service here, and the staff were genuine and very friendly. What a great value and a great experience. I'd come back for a couple of weeks to decompress.

Perfect Retreat Away From Tourist "Attractions"

Publié le 24 mars 2015
Les + : Privacy and intimacy is unsurpassed. No distractions, just the Caribbean pounding against the cliffs. It was clean, affordable and friendly.
Les - : Need small convenience store in restaurant with travel sized toiletries and OTC pharmaceuticals. Office should be open longer hours.
Situation : It is at the very end of West End Road. The hotel provides a shuttle for $3.50 USD to go to 7 mile beach and beyond. Definitely off the beaten path.
Found it a peaceful, quiet, resort at the end of West End Road. There were no tourist traps nearby. This was perfect for writing (I did 2 chapters). A rather aggressive uphill 4 mile walk takes you into the hills where both expats and working class Jamaicans live. This was totally enjoyable experience. You can not swim in the Caribbean at the resort because of the cliffs over which it is built. However there is a salt water pool and an Olympic sized swimming pool, both kept sparking clean. An ample beach is provided over the cliffs for sunbathing.

Very relaxing, even other guests were pleasant!

Enjoyed next time staying longer. Puuuuurrrrfect place to unwind, waves crashing on shore is like a lullaby at nights. Whenever you wake, it's a feeling of rejuvenation. Staff was friendly and service was great... Big ups to Sheldon, dude with the straw hat, front desk clerk and her daughter Drika and housekeeping lady, I took a pic with. One of our best vacation, keep up the good work Westender Inn management and staff!

Rough beauty on the reefs

Publié le 6 mars 2015 sur Hotels
Westender Inn is a very nice hotel based on the cliffside of Negril. One should be prepared that is far from basically everything, however the hotel provides a very flexible and cheap shuttle buss to the town or whereever you want to go. I enjoyed the stay very much, but my teenage daugther thought it was a bit too quiet - Especially because the WIFI was not very good... a very important feature in a young womans life:-) I combined the stay at the cliffs with some days at a hotel on the 7mile beach, and I am personally very happy to have experienced both spectacular scenaries. I would like to draw the attention to the yoga retreat next door: Jackie on the reefs. Fantastic place with open yoga sessions 8.30 every morning for 20US. And! very good breakfast and lunch. Worth a visit!!

The basics are there...

I'm satisfied with the choice I made to stay here. I would have thought for the price we paid we should get a small fridge and microwave...separate charges apply for this accomodation, but it is available for $5/day, for each appliance. This place is very safe, but also very serene. I would suggest if for those who want to be in Jamaica and not really experience Jamaica. It is quite a walk into the towns and tourist areas of Negril. As this is on the cliffs, you will need to travel to get to a beach. The happening spots are about 5-10 km from here, and the road is fair at best. They do offer a shuttle to cover most of this ground (and through one rough area of town) for the price of $7 per couple per way. It's...ok The people staying there were really friendly. The staff helped me by giving me a bag of ice after I injured myself at Rick's Cafe belly-flopping off of a cliff. the ice really helped reduce the massive bruising. If you want social go somewhere closer to the town center. If you want serenity and peace, come out here.
