Challenges with accurate information
We arrived to find that the number and type of beds described on VRBO did not match the number and type of beds in the house. We called the property manager and they said VRBO must not have updated information off the property manager's website. Apparently the bed arrangement change was over a year old. Does that task fall on VRBO's shoulders or is the property manager's job to ensure accuracy of the listing across all platforms? The property manager was kind enough to drop off bedding for us to use (since we brought bedding for the beds listed, not the actual sizes in the house) and said they would give us $200 back at the end of our stay to compensate us for the time and effort needed to go buy an inflatable bed so that everyone had their own bed to sleep in. The location of the house was great as we were within walking distance of the sound side beach. The overall cleanliness was questionable as we found left over food wrappers, toys, and dust next to the easy chairs, under the beds (They are up off the ground - I was not searching for junk. I just saw it when making the beds.), and on the window sill behind one of the couches. There were also flies in the house. We killed nearly two dozen of them and they just kept coming. We did not leave the door wide open or any such thing and we could not locate the place where the flies got in or were breeding. That was a bit gross. As to our refund, it did take about three weeks and multiple phone calls before we got it.
