Interesting property for a team competing in Nags Head at the Pier. Reasonably priced and outfitted providing more space and better accommodations than the hotel nearby.

Great lovation

This was a great location for our young family! Lunch and nap time was easy as the short walk to and from the beach was so short. Our area of the beach was less crowded as well.

Check in was super easy and quick! Its a perfect location for the beach and a really nice house with plenty of blankets and room for a little house. The game room was super cool and my oldest daughter had alot of fun up there.

Gray Sandcastle

We loved our stay at the Gray Sandcastle! There was a plumbing issue in one of the bathrooms, but the property manager was very communicative & helped to resolve this issue. Very clean, close walk to the beach, & perfect location! Would definitely stay here again.

I was very disappointed that the washer/dryer were out of order and i was not notified prior to our stay. I had expected to do several loads of laundry during our stay. The storm door was missing a screen so everytime you opened the door flies would come in unless you shut the front door immediately. The owners also did not respond when i told them we were disappointed with the washer/dryer being out of order. The house was updated on the inside and it was conveniently located close to the beach which was beautiful.

The house was cute, a bit smaller than expected but clean and nice and worked out great. The location is great, easy access to beach and close to a bunch of restaurants and shopping options. Two drawbacks: beds are very hard and make for a tough night sleep, and kitchen is extremely small so plan accordingly if you want to cook.

Very cute cottage

We had a delightful stay. Although the house is on the smaller side, it is exactly as advertised and had all we needed to enjoy the trip. Beach access is so close! We thoroughly enjoyed the games in the loft when it rained. Overall, we had a great trip!

Nice cute cottage. Has two sofa beds. We were able to sleep 4 adults and 2 children very comfortably. The sofa beds are also comfy. They provide plenty of clean towels. The location is great (quick stroll to the beach) although the water on the Atlantic side was cold even in July. For older folks and small kids its important to note you do have to climb a large sand dune. The driveway did get flooded for a few hours with heavy rain so having a SUV or truck would be a good idea. The railings on the second floor are very flimsy. Some are screwed in but most of them have small staples in them. Please BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL if you have young children because they can come off easily and it becomes a fall hazard. The host was very responsive Overall was a good experience.

Conveniently Located

The beach is only a few minutes walk over the dunes, which was fantastic. It is located near town so there is plenty to do. The house has a bunch of board games and a shuffleboard table upstairs. We wouldn't mind staying here again.

Very nice get away with our daughter and her baby . The weather was a little rough first night but cheated up after , host reassured us everything would be ok and was normal weather for fall ..answered my every concern and questions .. Grocery, and mall near by and enjoyed the Dolphin tour and the aquarium. We will be back

Cottage was perfect for our long weekend. Nalene was an excellent host and very responsive to any questions we had. Location of the property was great. Steps to the beach but also near many stores/shops/restaurants. Cottage was nice and clean. Loved it.

Perfect size

House was as described. Perfect for our family of 5. Let 3 teenage girls have the upstairs to themselves. Location was convenient to restaurants & activities. Walk to the beach was super close & beach was never crowded. We would definitely stay here again.

The Gray Sandcastle was very nice inside. It is perfect for two people, maybe three. It is nice to have two bedrooms with two bathrooms. The downstairs shower is a little small, but workable. The kitchen was small but workable. The den was cozy and there was a table big enough to work a puzzle. The cottage is very close to the beach, an easy walk. Our host sorted out an issue with the linens very quickly. The two issues we had were with flies and locking the front door. There seem to be some kind of fly infestation on the front porch/alcove. Maybe it was from all the rain. There was a combination lock on the front door that worked fine getting into the cottage, but it took us more than a dozen tries to lock it every time we left the cottage. The door did not line up with the door jam and it was very frustrating. Other than those two things, we enjoyed our time.
