Hôtel Vanilla

Les plus: la décoration, la piscine Les moins: - la qualité de l'acceuil (nous avons attendu 1h30 pour avoir notre chambre, j'avais réservé un lit double et nous avons eu trois lits simples!) - le confort (les matelas ne sont pas confortables) -le prix (très cher)

Great location

Ornos is my favorite location and Vanilla Hotel did not disappoint. Great location, nice and clean.

Awesome stay

Close to Ornos beach. Lots of restaurants around. Very comfortable room and much needed AC. Good buffet with a mix of hot and cold foods. Nice people.

Hotel senza troppe pretese

Personale gentile e disponibile. Abbiamo richiesto un transfer da e per l'hotel (il costo è di €20 a corsa). L'hotel è grazioso e pulito, anche se più di una volta sono venuti a rifare le camere alle 13.30, quando eravamo appena rientrati e ci accingevamo a pranzare. La camera che ci è stata assegnata era piccola e si affacciava sulla strada,molto trafficata e percorsa da camion, tanto che i vetri della finestra tremavano al passaggio dei mezzi. Un po' pietoso il bagno, dove vi era una doccia grande 50x50, chiusa da una tenda che ci si appiccicava addosso mentre ci lavavamo. Per nulla abbondante la colazione: mancavano latte caldo ed acqua calda per un thè. Il giorno in cui si sono accavallati partenze ed arrivi avevano esaurito alcuni alimenti e non ne avevano da integrare. Ottimo, invece, il ristorante accanto (non annesso all'hotel). Discreta la spiaggia, distante 5 minuti a piedi (i teli sono forniti dall'hotel su richiesta) anche se vi è un depuratore che scarica in.mare; nonostante ciò l'acqua è molto limpida. Nelle vicinanze dell'hotel si trovano un supermarket, un panificio ben fornito, un.noleggio auto/moto, una parafarmacia ed un paio di ristoranti. Il centro di Mykonos è raggiungibile in circa 15 minuti con un bus che ferma accanto al panificio (costo del biglietto €1,80 a corsa). Penso che allo stesso prezzo si possano trovare sistemazioni migliori. Nel complesso è stata una bella vacanza dove tutto si è svolto nel migliore dei modi.

A budget hotel

I really wanted to like this hotel but I just could not. The first room we stayed in had a mouldy smell and the aircon did not work along with no wifi. The next day we changed rooms and while the aircon worked in this new room the wifi still didn't work. When I asked reception they said the only place to get wifi is in the lobby, so I did my business calls amongst all the other hotel guests looking for wifi :( The hotel itself is in desperate need of some attention / updating. The bathrooms have no natural light and are dark and gloomy (really not nice at all). The breakfast is limited and the staff are not super friendly or helpful. It's also very load (just the way sound travels in the hotel) so we were woken up throughout the nights and did not have good sleep. The location of this hotel is the only positive thing about it, but there are much better hotels in the same area for the same price (or in some case even cheaper) so my advice to anyone reading this is to book something else. I do hope the management of this hotel improves things, it has a lot of potential but really needs some love.

Hotel room was nothing like the pictures. My room was very old and run down, with cracks all through the walls. I booked a double room but was put in a room with 3 single beds. I had booked for two guests but when we arrived at the hotel they told me I had to pay extra for second guest despite the fact that the booking was made for two people. Breakfast was average. Pool was nice.

Good location but facilities a bit tired

Clean and with a nice pool. Good location for beach. Facilities in need of some updating. Air conditioning failed on day 4 but was replaced next day with a new unit. The room was too small for 3 adults so a bit disappointing from that perspective. Needed to be a contortionist to have a shower (again just too small for the average adult). Plumbing was poor even by Greek standards. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but acceptable.

Wifi does not work in rooms to get any reception you need to sit in lobby , I stayed last year at hotel same issues I'm staying now at damianos hotel everything is excellent

hotel centrale e' molto carino.

Ottima struttura pulita e' ristrutturata al centro di Ornos ,ottima piscina,da migliorare forse un po' solo la colazione con frutta fresca e tostapane, personale splendido e' disponibilissimo,a pochi passi dal mare, da ritornare sicuramente.

The room is basic but had everything we needed, The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. This is our 2nd visit to this hotel so it speaks for itself

Δυστυχώς η διαμονή δεν ηταν όπως την είχαμε φανταστει! Το δωμάτιο ηταν βρώμικο, το πρωινό μέτριο και το χειρότερο ειχε παρα πολυ φασαρία! Κρίμα και σου το παρουσιάζουν ως τον ιδανικό προορισμό!

Nice hotel close to the beach

This was a great place to stay mainly because of how close it was to the beach (Ornos beach). A bit expensive but you are paying for its location. Also walking distance to the bus station. Staff was nice and helpful (by European standards... ). Their pool is nice and their restaurant is as well. I would stay there again.

Da ristrutturare

Le aree comuni sono ben tenute, probabilmente hanno provveduto a ristrutturarle recentemente...le camere invece sono molto essenziali e rovinate seppure spaZiose e pulite, il bagno davvero davvero piccolo! La colazione un po' scarsa, niente frutta e sempre uguale! Il personale è disponibile, simpatico e gentile! L'hotel è vicinissimo alla spiaggia di ornos e a numerosi ristoranti, inoltre, noleggiando un motorino è possibile visitare tutte le spiagge dell'isola e raggiungere la città di mykonos in 5 minuti!

OTTIMA POSIZIONE PER GIRARE L'ISOLA

Albergo in un'ottima posizione per girare l'isola a due passi dal centro di Mikonos città. Pulito con stanze senza eccessi ma dignitose. Posizione sulla strada trafficata ma comunque non disturbato, non si vede il mare ma lo si raggiunge in pochi minuti.La spiaggia di Ornos è attrezzata ma a nostro gusto troppo affollata di lettini, ombrelloni e barche .La piscina è piccola ma carina. Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Colazione semplice ma buona e abbondante.

Depende de lo que busques

Nos fue muy bien en el hotel Vainillia, teniendo en cuenta que buscábamos estar más tiempo por fuera disfrutando Mykonos. No es para nada lujoso, pero eso igual no es lo que ofrecen. La cama no es muy cómoda y el baño es un poco estrecho. El servicio es muy bueno y la gente muy atenta.

Vanilla hotel

This hotel was pretty, nice pool, nice decor ...near to beach but slot if outside traffic ...breakfast excellent and the room was nice but the bathroom was terrible , the shower was tiny with pull curtain and flooded the floor everywhere.

- überaus freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal! - Die Zimmer wurden täglich gründlich gereinigt! - neben den normalen Handtüchern standen täglich frische Badehandtücher für Pool oder Strand zur Verfügung! - gut gelegen: zwischen Ornos Beach und Korfos Beach (beide ca.300m entfernt) und ca 2-3 km nach Mykonos Stadt, einige Bars/Restaurants, Supermärkte, Apotheke und 24h-Shop füßläufig erreichbar! - mit dem Bus ist man in 5 Minuten in Mykonos Stadt und in 7 Minuten am Flughafen! - nettes kleines Hotel mit Charme und engagiertem Personal!

Ridiculously and sadly disappointed!!!

With the pictures shown as they were on all the online dad's... I had no doubt about the valid and certain beauty of the hotel Vanilla. In fact, I was in process of asking for extra time BEFORE i got there! Once I got there and say it was NOT as shown or described or promised. I literally cried almost all night. It was shown to be water front and it was NOT at all!!! The room was depressing and sad, dirty and all looked like second hand funnitur to us. No matter.. it was not as shown or promised and I had Pre-paid for it and no chance of return!!! I am insisting. My son found us a new hotel. He could not stand my sadness and crying. We had to pay again.. this other Hotel was actually ON the beach and cost less. It's not a competition. That Hotel LIED!!!!!

Lovely Hotel But No Hot Water!

I was looking for a nice budget hotel for me and my friends for our first trip to Mykonos. This wonderful 2* hotel was just what we were looking for - the room was simple with vanilla/cream and white decor with standard facilities hairdryer, fridge, air con and also a mini balcony! It's only 5 minutes walk away from the beautiful Ornos beach, 20 minutes walk to Mykonos Town and best of all only a few minutes away from the Pharmacy, Bakery and Supermarket! The hotel has a pool which looks stunning day and night with most of the rooms overlooking the pool. The staff were helpful most of the time but they don't like to repeat themselves! So make sure you listen carefully the first time! One problem with the hotel was the shower...the water was not hot for most of the time we were there. I informed the hotel staff but was told to keep the shower running for 5-10 minutes and hot water would be available but there was little difference. It was warm when we went at the end of May/early June so it was just about tolerable but still not good enough. Also, even with a shower curtain the water from the shower goes everywhere in the bathroom and doesn't drain properly. The towels provided are not enough to mop up the dampness so just be warned! The breakfast buffet provided was okay and there is free internet access which is great. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to budget travellers and anybody not too fussed about complete luxury.

Very nice and peaceful for a getaway

This hotel is lovely and perfect for a romantic get away. The pool is very relaxing and a nice quiet spot after a long day exploring the Mykonos island and beautiful beaches. Has Wi-Fi, TV, large beds, mini fridge with space to store your own food and drinks, market just down the street with food and drink, Ornos beach within walking distance.
