Surfmaster 904 - Two-bedroom, two-bath oceanfront condo with pools

Surf Master by the Sea 904 is a two-bedroom, two-bath oceanfront condo located 1.2 miles north of Garden City Pier. This condo features a fully-equipped and updated kitchen complete with dishwasher, and microwave, as well as a furnished oceanfront balcony, washer, dryer, and central heat and air conditioning. Other amenities include three flat screen TVs (cable), DVD player, and Wi-Fi. Sleeping accommodations include one king, one queen and one queen-sized sofa bed. Common area features two elevators in both towers, two oceanfront swimming pools and hot tubs, limited parking, (some covered) 7-foot clearance. Parking spaces are extremely limited and availability is based on the size of each unit. One bedroom units are assigned one pass; two and three bedroom units are assigned two passes. Vehicles not displaying a parking pass on the rear view mirror or in a prominent area on the dash board are subject to immediate towing per the Surf Master HOA. Additional parking passes are not available for other guests or visitors of guests. This unit is located in the north building. No smoking. No pets. No golf carts allowed. Maximum occupancy: 6

Conveniently located close to some of the best area attractions, Garden City Beach is directly south of Surfside Beach and ends on a peninsula at the mouth of Murrells Inlet. One of the most renowned attractions in Garden City Beach is the Pier at Garden City. Other points of interest include Marlin Quay Marina and restaurants Sara J's Seafood Restaurant, Gulfstream Cafe, and Original Sam's Corner.

Just south of Garden City Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community considered the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina" and home to some of the nation's best golf courses. Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half-mile-long boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and the many award-winning restaurants along Highway 17 Business in the central business district.

Brookgreen Gardens, a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve built on four former rice plantations, is located slightly south of the MarshWalk. It features several themed gardens with American figurative sculptures, trails through several nature reserve ecosystems, and the Lowcountry Zoo.

If you're looking for places to shop, The Market Common, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, two Tanger shopping outlets, Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade, and many more shopping facilities are all within an easy drive from Garden City Beach.

Looking for entertainment and attractions? Take in a show at Pirates Voyage, Medieval Times, Alabama Theater, The Carolina Opry, or Legends in Concert. Then visit SkyWheel Myrtle Beach, Ripley's Aquarium, WonderWorks, Ripley's Believe It Or Not Odditorium, Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center, and The Pavilion Nostalgia Park.

Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and the second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway, with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Both towns include fine dining, shopping, and historic sites.

Take a day trip to Charleston to experience shopping, a harbor cruise, a city carriage tour, or a plantation tour. Charleston is only 87 miles from Garden City Beach - approximately two hours. It's a picturesque and exquisitely preserved southern city with antebellum architecture, cobblestone streets, and historical landmarks.

It was quiet most of the time, and the Management company kept us informed about the construction that was going on at the time of our visit. Construction was a bit annoying because of the parking situation, but it was done quickly and only inconvenienced us for a short time.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I selected a vacation condo simply from the on-line virtual tour. Oh my! The panoramic view shown from the balcony was breathtaking, and the furnishings were so elaborate! However, would Surfmaster 904 really look like the virtual tour? Yes, yes, yes!! The condo was fantastic. My husband and I had with us our three grandchildren, ages 5, 8, and 11, for their last summer fling before the start of school on 8/4/14. The condo was very clean, close to the elevator, and had anything one would need...well-stocked kitchen, wonderful showerheads, beach chairs for our use, plus two comfortable beds and a sofa bed, and much, much more. The pool and hot tub were perfect, in addition to the proximity to the beach which was just a few steps away. The children were from beach, to pool, to hot tub, simply back and forth for a week. Ordinarily, we would have been pooped, but the convenience of location of the three was so easy for us. Children were everywhere, so our grandchildren had fun with the others! Murrells Inlet had wonderful restaurants (Drunken Jack's is a yum! yum!), and the Marsh Walk was an extra treat. Had the grandchildren not been with us, there are many other activities my husband and I would have done; however, the trip was for the kids, and we followed their lead. They loved the water, the sand, ice cream parlors (Painters was soooo good), Gilligan's Island golf, and more. They weren't difficult to please...just happy to be at the beach. Garden City Rentals employees were so helpful with my reservation and would have helped us in any way possible. I would highly recommend #904 Surfmaster by the Sea to all and tell you to take time to enjoy the fabulous balcony view!! Have fun!! (Extra note for families with children...Surfmaster is very family/children friendly, and that is a big plus!)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great seaside property. Equipment worked well. Great WiFi experience. TV's left a lot to be desired. The "toy" TV's in the bedroom are a waste of space and were not for watching. Listening to music from the cable channel was the only enjoyable benefit in the bedroom. Really expected to see a flat ccreen TV, but we were able to rent one from AArons just around the corner in the neighborhood. Owner had just redone the bathrooms, new tub (surrounds). Well equiped kitchen ...I love to cook, I just didn't think all the space in the cupboards would be filled with cooking stuff. We shopped before looking to see how much space we had. No space to put groceries, we managed but it wasn't an attractive sight entertaining. I'm sure people go out for dinner many times, but we enjoy entertaining at home.

The view from the balcony is somewhat obstructed which also prevented the nice ocean breezes from reaching us. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant stay.

Although this condo was nicely furnished and equipped the condo and the property were very dirty. The rugs were in desperate need of cleaning, not something that i would have gone without shoes in. In addition the tub was dirty (stained) and the shower curtain had thick mold in the lining of the hem. The grains in the bathroom took forever to drain. On our first day i found two clumps of hair in the kitchen under the cabinetry on the floor. The property itself is run down, torn rugs exist outside of the elevators, the stairwells are in need of painting etc. The garbage container for the property is in the front of the building and until the collection is made it is unsightly. I would not stay at this property again, i feel that the money spent was wasted. Minimal expectations for a vacation property are clean and I expect to stay in a property that is in good repair and clean. Aside from that the property is located nicely away from all of the traffic in MB.

The condo was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The pool very clean and plenty of pool chairs to go around. I would highly recommend staying in Garden City and booking your stay at Surfmaster.
