Retraite privée en forêt près du lac Winnipesaukee

  • The Bee Hive Bungalow | Private Lakes Region Retreat

**A peaceful retreat in the woods, just minutes from Lake Winnipesaukee.**

Welcome to The Bee Hive Bungalow, a beautifully designed 1-bedroom apartment tucked away on our private 80-acre property in Moultonborough, New Hampshire.

Here, you can slow down, explore the woods, watch for wildlife from the living room, walk the property's private trails, and enjoy the peace and privacy of being surrounded by nature—all while being just 1.7 miles from a public boat launch on Lake Winnipesaukee and close to some of the Lakes Region's favorite destinations.

The bungalow offers approximately 1,000 square feet of comfortable living space, thoughtfully designed with a warm, modern style and our signature bee-inspired touches. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a quiet weekend in the mountains, or a home base for exploring the Lakes Region, we'd love to have you stay.

    The Space

A Bedroom You'll Want to Sleep In

The spacious bedroom features a comfortable king-size bed and a daybed that converts into two twin beds, making the bungalow comfortable for couples, small families, or friends traveling together.

A Smart TV is also provided for relaxing at the end of the day.

A Kitchen Made for Staying In

The beautifully renovated kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal and settle in for a night at home. You'll find modern appliances, butcher block countertops, green cabinetry, and charming bee-inspired details throughout.

A dedicated coffee and beverage nook with a coffee maker and microwave makes slow mornings especially easy.

    Bring the Outdoors In

One of the favorite features of the bungalow is the bright, open living room and its 12-foot sliding glass door, offering beautiful views of the surrounding woods and peaceful water views.

Grab a cup of coffee in the morning, curl up on the couch after a day of exploring, or simply watch the woods come alive around you. Wildlife sightings are part of the experience here—and you never know what you might see.

    Relax & Dine

The dining area comfortably seats four, giving you plenty of room to enjoy a home-cooked meal, morning coffee, or takeout from one of the area's great local restaurants.

The newly renovated full bathroom is stocked with the essentials you'll need for a comfortable stay.

    Explore Our 80 Acres

Your stay includes access to our private 80-acre property, where walking trails wind through the woods and along the property.

Take a quiet morning walk, explore the trails, look for wildlife, or simply find a peaceful spot to enjoy the scenery.

Guests have spotted everything from owls to other wildlife during their walks, and the natural surroundings are one of the things that make staying here so special.

You'll also see our little homestead in action. Our free-range chickens roam the property, and depending on the day, you may spot them wandering around or get a glimpse of our gardens and other homestead projects.

And if you're lucky, you may even get to enjoy some fresh eggs from our chickens during your stay.

    Your Own Private Space

Guests have full, private access to the entire 1,000-square-foot apartment.

The bungalow is located on the second floor above our barn. You'll enter through the barn and head upstairs to your private apartment.

While our family lives elsewhere on the property, we respect your privacy and allow you to enjoy the bungalow and surrounding property at your own pace. You may occasionally see us working on our homestead or tending to the property, but your apartment is completely private.

We also have honeybees on the property, with our apiaries located well away from the bungalow and guest areas.

    Convenient Lakes Region Location

You'll enjoy the best of both worlds here: the feeling of being tucked away in the woods while still being close to everything the Lakes Region has to offer.

    * 1.7 miles to a public Lake Winnipesaukee boat launch
    * Short drive to downtown Moultonborough & Country Store
    * Close to Castle in the Clouds
    * Approximately 20 minutes to Meredith
    * Easy access to restaurants, hiking, boating, swimming, shopping, and other Lakes Region attractions

After a day exploring the lake or surrounding mountains, you can return to your own quiet retreat in the woods.

    Parking

Two dedicated parking spaces are available directly in front of the building, making arrival and unloading easy. Additional parking is available upon request.

    A Few Things to Know

Our family lives on the property. Our free-range chickens may wander through the property and occasionally along the driveway, and you'll hear the natural sounds of the woods throughout your stay.

If you're looking for a peaceful place to disconnect, explore, and experience a little piece of New Hampshire country living while still being close to Lake Winnipesaukee, The Bee Hive Bungalow is the perfect place to settle in.
