BLUE HERON POINT, A PREMIER VACATION RENTAL

Welcome to our family house! Come enjoy our best kept secret in VA and see what Smith Mountain Lake has to offer! Recently built, Blue Heron Point comes fully equipped to handle any size vacation, featuring 4 plus bedrooms and 4 plus bathrooms, commercial stove/hood, HOT TUB, FIRE PIT TERRACE, LARGE PRIVATE DOCK and is at the best location on the lake with easy lake from our deep private cove. There is road access to many restaurants, wineries, marinas, state park hiking trails, kids activities, parks, etc, all within a few miles of our home. Our large home comes with plenty of space for large groups both indoor and outdoor with a large stationary and floating dock with huge upper deck, hot tub and fire pit terrace for enjoying the beautiful lake views.

Our home features a spacious, open floor plan with large windows overlooking the lake providing abundant natural light and views. Fully furnished with chef's dream kitchen, Comcast high speed WiFi, 2 large LED TVs with Xfinity cable and lots of room for family/friends on each of it's three floors and outdoor spaces. All the lake amenities that you could ask for are included with an oversized Raised Deck over the main dock, Floating Dock, Hot Tub, Private Swimming Area, Fire Pit, Large Upper Deck and Lower Patio, Game/Rec Room, Pool Table, Large LED TVs, WiFi, Washer/Dryer, Boat Anchoring and more! The kitchen and pantry hold numerious small appliances and is well stocked with extras.

The main entry level has a large open living room with floor to ceiling windows, 70" LED TV, BluRay Player, a well-equipped kitchen (commercial stove/hood!) for cooking and eating with large groups, Master Bedroom (see bed sizes below), Master Bathroom and a half bathroom. The upper level includes landing/loft area open to lake views below, 2 plus Bedrooms and 2 Full Bathrooms. The lower level has a large Rec Room with Pool Table, Wet Bar, Fridge, 55" LED TV, 1 Bedroom and Full Bathroom.

Both the main and lower levels including the bedrooms lead out to large outdoor spaces which are convenient ways to enjoy the views and lake. Main level deck features a gas grill and abundant seating and tables for maximizing time outdoors during meals or morning coffee.

Our family had a wonderful stay over the Thanksgiving holiday! The house was very well kept with stunning views. We were even able to make a complete Thanksgiving dinner in the well-appointed kitchen. We loved every minute and would definitely book again!

Initial impression upon arriving was a seamless check in with no issues, the house was clean and there were more rooms than we expected. However, the small kitchen appliances outside of the fridge, stove and microwave were dated and didn’t work to their intended function. The kuerig, toaster, coffee pot, gas fireplaces, gas grill ALL needs to be replaced immediately!! The vents for all the bathrooms were erroneously covered with drywall with no way to properly vent any methane. With that being said, overall it’s a great house, that you can make the best of, just needs updates with the small appliances and tightening a few loose ends. The hot tub and the fire pit were both amazing. The house packed with plenty of board games, activities and a nice pool table.

Our stay here was fabulous! It’s a beautiful home with a beautiful dock. We were not prepared for the steep driveway or the amount of stairs down to the dock but, we spent the day on the lake anyway so we considered it exercise kitchen was nicely stocked beds were comfortable and the hosts took care of our few minor problems immediately! Definitely would return to this beautiful place.

Summer Family Vacation

House was perfect for 15 guests. Owner was very nice and great at communication! Kitchen was perfect and well stocked. When we arrived there were ants and we had to take care of them throughout the week. Driveway is extremely steep. Dock was great and well stocked with toys. House was clean overall(other than ants).

Excellent lake house

We had an awesome time at this lake house! The place was super clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. Loved waking up to the view of the lake and spending the afternoons out on the water.We grilled, hung out by the fire pit, and just enjoyed some peace and quiet. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and get away from the usual routine. The host was great too — easy to communicate with and made sure we had a smooth stay.Definitely planning to come back!

Excellent location and home!

Blue Heron is one of the most beautiful properties we’ve had the pleasure of renting! There were 8 of us very comfortably in the home! We did have to arrange the multiple cars carefully, as the driveway is narrow and steep, but the owner left the garage available and we were able to park two cars inside, which helped immensely! It was very clean, all of the things needed for the week were provided, and communication was excellent we would love to stay again!

Perfect family spot to celebrate LU Graduation

We had family coming from AZ, IA, IN, and GA to celebrate a doctoral graduation at Liberty University. This property was a perfect spot to accommodate our group. The kitchen was well stocked and there were so many options to sit inside and out. We enjoyed the pool table and firepit too.

Stunning Location

The floor to ceiling windows in the family room let is so much natural light along with beautiful views of the lake. The kitchen and pantry were both huge and accommodated our group with room to spare, no matter what you were cooking or prepping. We enjoyed many meals and games around the dining room table. We were there in January so no chance to enjoy the lake. We were able to take some walks and visit Ramulose Ridge Vineyards. The peach sangria is amazing! We felt secluded but were only 10 minutes from the Food Lion. We've made many treasured memories at Smith Mountain Lake, and this gets added to the list. Thank you to the host for all his efforts to remove ice from the driveway for our arrival and departure.

Family Thanksgiving

Kitchen was well stocked, but bring extra trash bags. Only 2 hand towels provided. Extra Pillows available, but no pillow cases. We brought extra blankets, thankfully. While preparing Thanksgiving meal, lost electricity 3 times, 2 hours, 30 minutes, 20 minutes. Took some investigating to get updates on the power outages. Setting and outdoor amenities were great. Be prepared for the very steep driveway.

Fantastic fall visit to Smith Mountain Lake

My wife and I, our 4 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and our granddaughter spent last week at Blue Heron Point. Our bedrooms were comfortable and the family room gave great views of the lake and the trees with the changing color of the leaves. We took turns cooking meals, and I have to say this is one of the best kitchens I have ever encountered. The appliances were top-notch, and we had plenty of room for multiple people to work on meal prep together. We also played some pool, and unlike some houses, there was plenty of room to line up shots. The party deck is also spacious and gives a great view of the lake, and we make frequent use of the kayaks. We also enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. And I almost forgot to mention, the house was well stocked with paper goods and hand soap, and other little extras that let us know the owners really care about the happiness of their guests. The bottom line - there is everything you need at Blue Heron Point for a great family vacation!

Wonderful fall getaway

We had a wonderful long weekend at Blue Heron Point! The weather was beautiful for October and we enjoyed spending time together as a family sitting on the dock, kayaking, sitting in the hot tub, playing corn hole and sitting around the fire pit. The house is beautiful and was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We would definitely recommend this place to others!

This home is warm and inviting. There was plenty of room for our group of 8 to spread out. We each enjoyed cooking in the fabulous kitchen. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could ask for when it came to preparing meals. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for a large place with great views.

SML 2024

This was our third year at SML! Brought two other families, the house was spacious and plenty of room on the dock and around the house for fun for all to have. Kids loved jumping off the dock and swimming while we were not on the boat. Couple issues came up, but the owner acted quickly and took care of it.
