A lakeside retreat

Relax at peaceful Still Valley Lake cottage, located on our private lake in Carroll County, Ohio. Escape, unwind and enjoy the shared beach, swimming, fire pit (bring wood), amazing catch and release fishing (with your equipment), spectacular views and complimentary canoe, kayaks and paddle boat. Pontoon boat and ski boat with driver available (fee). Liability waiver required at check-in. Wi-Fi is slow and sporadic at times. Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile all have service.

The space
Come enjoy all that Still Valley Lake has to offer! Relax on a covered porch and see beautiful lake views from every room. Make use of the shared beach, complimentary canoe, adult kayaks, youth kayak and paddle boat, swim, or fish (catch and release). Pontoon boat (shared between 2 properties, no boating license required) and ski boat with driver are typically available for rent (seasonal); ask for details. Please note that the lake is lowered for the winter by mid November until spring, so access is limited. Beach towels, camping chairs, and bean bag toss are included.

No outside gas-powered boats permitted.

The dedicated beach area is adjacent to a beach used by other property owners. Other people might be present. Please do not assume that the beach will be vacant. Respect the area marked for other property owners' use (see sign located on the storage container located on the right side of the beach facing the water). Do NOT use the docks and pontoon boat closest to the cottage. For a private space, please consider booking our other property, Still Valley Lake Loft.

The small kitchen is fully functional, with 2 burner electric cooktop, a combination microwave/convection oven, compact refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee maker and dishwasher. There is no full size traditional oven. Charcoal grill available.

Twin beds can easily be pushed together. Wood burner for use with temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit for a cozy winter stay . Please bring your own wood.

There is a 100 foot elevation change up and down to reach the cottage. 4WD or AWD are needed if snow or ice is present.

Guest access
Enjoy your private cottage and Still Valley Lake.

The beach is a shared space, so there is a good chance that other (very friendly!) people will be present. Please take a moment to view the signs visible from the road regarding where your designated area is located. The beach, docks, and pontoon boat closest to the cottage are NOT for guest use. Refer to the map in the unit.

We suggest utilizing the Mount Union nature center close by, which has dedicated hiking trails. Guests are welcome to walk on the drive.

The lake is lowered by mid-November thru spring. Access is limited during that period, and no pontoon boat or water-skiing is available.

As a private lake, there is limited access and boat traffic. Guests do not have exclusive use of the lake and property. The beach is a shared space.

Other things to note
Keep your eyes open for deer, hawks, eagle and other wildlife. The catch and release fishing is amazing! Bring wood and enjoy a fire in the fire pit beside the beach. Camping chairs and beach towels are provided, along with coffee, oatmeal and breakfast bars. Smart TVs available for use with your subscriptions (Netflix, Hulu, etc.). Internet can be marginal at times, but Verizon and AT&T work well. Also, note that this is a rural property, so do not walk alone outside after dark. Standard wildlife is present.

Pontoon boat is available for rent, but is shared between 2 properties and is first come first served.
